It is kind of sad that the film is a critique of Reaganism and it has been warped by racists as a warning about some sort of Jewish conspiracy, to the point that Carpenter himself had to tweet that, no, it's about yuppies and unrestrained capitalism.

When the way you "allegorize" your critique of Capitalism makes it a Conspiracy that blames it on an invisible other, it inevitably becomes indistinguishable form a Right Wing Conspiracy theory.

In other words it's Carpenter's own fault.

I've always just hit f5 in Google Chrome.

That only refreshes the page. Ctrl-F5 bypasses the browser cache and fetches the page and auxiliary content afresh.

Oh. I've never noticed a situation where F5 isn't sufficient, scripts or not. Interesting.

It can depend on a lot of things, like cache expiration, cache-busting queries, your ISP, etc. But bypassing it on a refresh is the best way to be absolutely certain (as you can be from the client-side).
