He learned at a pedestrian pace, but never exhibited that much power by the end of Return of the Jedi.

Exactly. You simply cannot compare ''mild precognition'' with ''controlling peoples' minds'' which is what Rey learns how to do within hours.

And again, as I already said, four years later and Luke can barely lift an X-Wing a few feet whereas Rey is lifting a hundred rocks with a bored expression on her face after a week. The two are not comparable.

OK, while I'm firmly in the camp of thinking Rey's progression in using the Force was way too fast, that's twisting things a bit. First, IMO I don't think her expression is "bored" in that scene. (I've linked it below). She's not exactly straining like Yoda was when he lifted the X-wing, but her face seems determined. But even if you disagree, nothing about the way the scene was framed conveys that Rey is supposed to be bored while she's saving the day. IIRC before she lifts them she takes a deep breath, repeats the line that they're just rocks. Then later we cut to the Resistance escaping the caves as she lifts the rocks, the music conveying awe and triumph, and Rey hugs Finn. But yeah, sure, Rey is "bored".
