*EDIT(got stuck in the emotional state:not 6 but 4, late 90's born)
Its nice for chuck to review this film, the moment I watched the re-watch on June 2002 helped me with my trauma on 2001 when my 4 year old self had to wear those gas-masks the NG gave those that lived in Manhattan. *sigh* I just came back from vacation and it all went to shit! While I was happy to be unaffected to asbestos, that did not stop the horror of my school being so close and still had us to study, what the genuine F*CK happened to the education system in that event!? Do they deny the response of the event and still opened despite being only 10 blocks away with the NG saying all businesses closed until attack-site is cleared!
Jim Henson is a saint to children, that movie may not be the best like the Storyteller or Farscape, but by God's glorious ass he was the last beacon of inspiration we needed for art.
R. I. P. Henson.

Do not pity a Slave for the Slave-Lord, but hear the power of what Chaos can be.
All Beings bow before the children of he who bound their flesh by their words.
Fall and wail, all flesh, bone, soul,& power is a servant to Yun-man, the First Slave-Lord.

Nope, no follow-up. I don't recall if Henson had intended to, but the mid-eighties until his death in 1990 were a complicated time for the company and that may have played a part. Hopefully Chuck will talk about some of this in the upcoming video he mentioned.clearspira wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 12:39 amDoes the Dark Crystal have a sequel? Because if it doesn't then at least they realised their thin premise had no more traction. Cameron however has threatened us with three more films. God only knows what material he has.
The fact that it's taken this long for any follow-up material does I think speak to the lack of obvious material for doing so. It's a rich world, but the story is simple.
Re: Film: The Dark Crystal
The movie ends with a resolution. You can tell tales set before (like the series) or you could set things in the world that came after, but there isn't much to carry on with here directly.
We must dissent. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwqN3Ur ... l=matsku84

That not a bad thing, how many films now-a-days make ending hoping for a franchise.

Apparently the comic series "Power of the Dark Crystal" is based on the planned sequel they never made. Haven't read it, don't know much about it
