Haven't seen it, will be in the next few days. But from the reviews I have seen it is either average or terrible. Very few reviewers outside the shill media seem to have much good to say about it. The consensus so far seems to be that it is better than TLJ but I don't yet know.
But what do the illustrious followers of the SFDebris Forums think? Is it a classic, an improvement, or the predictable end to this Mickey Mouse shaped dumpster fire?

If you want. If the leaks are true... well, I am waiting to see it for myself to pass final judgement.

It's a clusterfuck of bad ideas, subversions of the subversions of Johnson and general meandering in order to cater to fans that they lost by TLJ at latest, in the vague hopes of reaquiring the lost fanbase.

It seems the no spoilers thread is losing to the spoilers thread. I haven't read that thread for obvious reasons, but that is telling me a lot about the quality of this film.

Re: Your Star Wars Rise of Skywalker Reviews (no spoilers)
I enjoyed it.
There's some pretty obvious course correction at time, but that's nothing new in Star Wars ("...from a certain point of view."). But that's where I think a lot of what some people see as problems arise: trying to get back on track after Last Jedi took screen time away from the actual plot, so there wasn't really any time to breath between set pieces. This leaves certain plot points feeling rushed and, IMHO, somewhat unresolved.
I won't go into details because that would mean spoiling some parts.
But I would advise people to watch it for themselves (however they chose to) before they pick a side. Is it a perfect film? No, but it's a good film, and one that deserves a chance. The cast and crew obviously worked hard on it, and it's a disservice to them to shit on their work without at least giving it a chance.
And yes, it's hypocritical of me to say that given I still haven't seen Ghostbusters 2016

Re: Your Star Wars Rise of Skywalker Reviews (no spoilers)
Jar Jar Abrams tried to cater to fans without having any idea of what a Star Wars fan enjoys or why they enjoy it.
In the comics, the emperors return allowed Luke to finish his heroes journey and conquer his ultimate nemesis. It allowed him to show that in the six years between Dark Empire and Return of the Jedi he'd trained hard and the events of the story allowed him to rise above the Emperors Level.
Chewie mourns a certain characters death in The Rise of Skywalker more than anyone mourned Han.
We get the biggest space battle in Star Wars history, and the worst builup and payoff.
The Death Star Throne room looks like a bomb went off inside of it, instead of the utter atomization we saw in Return of the Jedi.
It reminds me of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. It tried to duplicate the feel of the action sequences seen in the Matrix, but it had no idea how to duplicate the structure and direction that made those sequences so entertaining. Yes it brought the Final Fantasy characters back, but they were on screen together for all of three minutes and accomplished nothing together. Scale means nothing without significant structure and direction. Fan service is empty without inspiring the same emotions fans connect to.
In TROS, There's too little knowledge and respect for the past, too little development and depth of the current characters, too much movie and not enough time to make it feel worth while.

So it sucks. So I heard.
Edit:
I haven't seen it yet but I guess I will just so to send a goodbye to Star Wars- for the last time.

I really enjoyed this. If anything it's maybe a day late and buck short, but in itself I liked the film.
