It is a flawed movie but by far the most satisfying one Disney has made yet.

If by satisfying you mean dumb then yes

Yeah but it's never been 'bring back an old villain with no explanation and have him be related to the hero somehow' dumb. Everything about Palpatine was dumb, and it killed any chance the rest of the movie had of being good. Admittedly JJ and Chris didn't give it a good chance even besides that by just writing a fetch quest as the main storyline

I'm pretty sure at least someone in 1980 thought Vader still being alive was dumb.
I'm actually in the process of writing an article about why I feel the Rey Paplatine twist works.

What does it add to Rey's character?

I don't care what any twist adds to a character, I already find Rey likable enough.

So how can you write about how it works if you don't care about It?

Character development is a factor in little of what I write about regarding art I like.

Re: The Rise of Skywalker (Spoilers: Read at Your Own Risk)
Yeah but Rey Palpatine can only be good if it does something to Rey's character. Because it's entire purpose is to do something to Rey's character. Is you're article about how Rey Palpatine is a cool name? Because that's the only other thing the twist does
