Oh a popcorn movie. . .
I am not sure. There are some movies I wish I could forget. The second live action GI Joe movie springs to mind as one I wish to forget.
But as to a mindless movie I think it is like playing a level of a game to just done something to relax without much effort. Extra Credits had a word for it and sadly my aging brain lost it just as I recalled it. But the idea is to not put much into it but get a short burst of pleasure out of it.

I think the problem is too many franchises fall to popcorn levels or expectations rise too high for them to be met.

Me: Credit. If you never pay back a loan you can get loans and credit cards just with high interest. Despite never paying back a dime. But if you live within your means and pay your bills every month you have no credit and no one trusts you? I don't get it.

Well, I don't have the context of the anecdote you're pulling from but basically the difference between bad credit and no credit, as I understand it, is that lenders know that people with bad credit are risks. People with no credit could very well be as much of a risk, so they are treated more or less the same.

Now a lot of things that many might not think of as credit can help build credit. For example, paying rent and utilities on time can help build a credit score, and can be more costly with poor credit. These days, it's probably very difficult to have no credit unless you are young, or live off the grid. If you are young, you should apply for a credit card as soon as you are spending money regularly, if you think you can keep your spending in check, so you can grow your credit rating.

I don't really want to argue the point. But I have been denied credit or loans for having no credit. Not given a bad interest rate. And I paid my rent and utilities on time for twenty years and was told that does not count. Hence why the byzantine nature just mystifies me. If I just got bad interest rates I could assume okay they need to see you are unknown and thus a risk. Once they know you (built credit) it will get better. But it seems living within my means is horrifyingly wrong.

Despite being back in the US 5 years now I'm still virtually a credit ghost here, and yeah, I've been denied too, not just made to pay over the odds for rates. People think paying utilities and bills help but they do not. You need to pay rent to a landlord that reports it or get lines of credit to have a credit history. Now generally, the lack of credit hasn't hampered me because I pay for things and have a suitable debit card, but one place where you can't duck out of this game is if you want to own property unless you are going to come up with a LOT of cash. I plan to try to obtain a house in about 5 years for my mother and niece to live in and do not expect to have enough just liquid cash to buy a house outright. So I started playing the game and now have a credit card after getting a secured one. I will pay for a streaming service through it and make my payments on time and then keep building as time goes on so future me can make that happen. I wish this wasn't necessary, but this is the way the traps ave been laid for us - sorry game has to be played - and the system is built around it.

Popcorn is very GI friendly. It's but a few carbs and some of it is fiber, and some protein. The oil they use at my theater is coconut oil. When I worked there it was hydrogenated soy oil, which I looked up and it turns out it's pretty healthy lol. That was when they were a different company though.

Here is another HUGE thing I don't understand. What the hell is this big fuss surrounding Mike Eisner? I don't get it. Former Disney CEO, replaced by Bob Iger. I mean, Family Guy once spoofed that, I remember, where he's like the dude from Temple of Doom and Peter shoves him into a croc death, screaming, "You betrayed the shareholders." But that's it. Good tip about Cinema Popcorn: flavacol. It's a specific additive that they've been using since the fifties. You can get it on Amazon.
