So far, secession from the EU is going a lot more smoothly than the last time a big chunk of the US tried to leave.

California has an economy roughly the size of the UK's, and the USA has a GDP roughly the size of the EU's, but California would be left with a far smaller military and not as much influence over the UN.
Not to mention how much California, and especially LA, imports water and electricity from out of state.

California and the UK should form their own union. The UK can export rain and California can export food and sunshine. This is all kinds of win!

Hopefully "food" is a very wide umbrella term that also includes wine.

California wine for UK beer sounds like a fair trade to me. :D

Modern day economies need much more than food and drink. They need recources like raw materials and fuel that not every country produces or even has. Which is why no modern country can maintain staple economy without trading with other countries for those resources. Something that has also helped China to have economic influence over rest of world. And that's what every member country of EU is. So comparing UK top California that's state and EU to USA is false. Thats how much different those are.

Um... Do you realize that my comparison of California and the UK to the USA and the EU was to point out that they were different situations?

So, it was a bit quiet about BrExit on here for a while, so... Let's shit on BrExit, because I think everyone can use a good laugh:

Long story short, the BoJo administration decided to establish their own satellite navigation system, now that they are kinda out of Galileo, the EU's sat-nav-system and for that they purchased roughly 20% of a bankrupt tele-communications company's satellite network. There's just this slight problem with those satellites being in the completely wrong orbit for that purpose, as well as those satellites being communication satellites by design, not navigational beacons, because the company's expressed goal was to bring internet access to people who are kinda hard to reach by ground-based means.

Could be cover for the Brits upping their spying game. Brexit means less intelligence sharing between them and Europe.
