You seriously never ever will want to wipe your arse with a newspaper.

And as someone who grew up in an environment where toilet-paper was generally refered to as sandpaper in only a half-joking manner, I can guarantee you that, two or three weeks into an apocalypse, the man with the soft-tissue three-layer toilet-paper stock will be made the god-emperor of mankind.

P.S.: We already seem to have found a cure or at least protective treatment for Covid-19. It's a medicine used to treat intestine inflamation, currently only used/approved in Japan. It undermines the virus' ability to penetrate cell-membranes.

Oh good. I hope they develop it further and spread it worldwide. God bless the Japanese.

The Romans used a rag or sponge on a stick. Considering the time the remains of the toilets at Housesteads on Hadrian's Wall are quite impressive - a stone channel that would've had wooden seats over it (one was found at the nearby fort of Vindolanda a few years ago), with water flowing below, and a smaller channel of water on a raised platform in front for washing afterwards.

The ultimate irony has happened - Nadine Dorries, a senior British health minister in charge of fighting coronavirus, has tested positive for coronavirus. And she has apparently met with most of Parliament in the last few weeks including Boris Johnson.

I have watched some pretty surreal sport on TV in the last few weeks with so many events now rejecting crowds. I enjoy watching sumo (its fun, try it) and the sight of two guys in a completely empty room with every slap of their bellies and bum cheeks lovingly filling a microphone designed to filter out a ten thousand strong braying crowd is something else.

Airfares have fallen through the floor and tourists are staying home. Now is great/terrible time if you want to go somewhere and see the sights.

Rome should be reasonable weather and not directly quarantined if you want a suggestion.
