Welp, hand sanitizer is sold out EVERYWHERE. Folks like Purell can't seem to meet demand and some folks are DIYing their own.

Soap is more effective anyways.

Terrible idea btw. It is said that you need an alcohol content of 60% and above to effectively kill even standard germs and viruses. Most drinking spirits are at 40%. This means that either you will create something that does not work or you will create something that is potentially going to burn your skin off.ProfessorDetective wrote: ↑Wed Mar 11, 2020 3:13 am Welp, hand sanitizer is sold out EVERYWHERE. Re: Coronavirus - the new pandemic
I just received news that my university, George Washington University will not be coming back to campus the week after spring break or at least till April 4th instead doing it all via teleconferencing and online services. They might make the rest of the semester teleconference.
It is super disruptive as many students live on campus and they have to apply to stay in their dorms as those might be shutdown... thing is, GWU has a large international student population and a lot of them are from China, they don't have anywhere else to go.

Even the WHO is calling it a pandemic now, and a lot more states have infected than don't.
I was way too optimistic about containing this thing.
It's not the end of the world -- and even if it were it wouldn't kill us before November, so there's that hope out the window. Most people still just get a nuisance-level infection. Even if you show no symptoms, be careful around elderly relatives or people with depressed immune systems.

Yeah. Basically if normie flu will kill you then so will this. If not, then you are probably fine.Darth Wedgius wrote: ↑Wed Mar 11, 2020 5:21 pm Even the WHO is calling it a pandemic now, and a lot more states have infected than don't.

In other news, Trump looks a bit silly now. Didn't he declare that it would all blow over in weeks?

I think he said it'd blow over by April, which is probably not going to happen (though warmer months may help, actually). Trump should stop reading my comments on SF Debris forums.clearspira wrote: ↑Wed Mar 11, 2020 6:10 pmYeah. Basically if normie flu will kill you then so will this. What is the difference between fever and sudden fever?
