VOY: Pathfinder
Re: VOY: Pathfinder
Reg is great so it always helps an episode when he shows up. This one is quite good and I'm glad he was brought on board for the twilight of Voyager. I wish we'd gotten a little more of him actually.

One thing like episodes like this do is make it seem like Voyager is finally moving on its journey. For too long it seemed like there wasn't that much voyaging going on. This makes it seem like they are on a long haul trip, and gradually getting closer to their goal.

Re: VOY: Pathfinder
I think I may have been unfairly prejudiced by a few times they technobabbled their way out of a problem. And even seasons of Dr. Who that I liked did that, and I didn't mind it as much. Like in so many things, I'm not entirely sure why I felt the way I felt.clearspira wrote: ↑Sun Mar 15, 2020 11:44 amVoyager was not a bad a show as far as bad shows go. It was a formulaic one and wasted its potential as a result.Darth Wedgius wrote: ↑Sun Mar 15, 2020 4:26 am Looking back, I think the Voyager episodes I like the best tend to be the ones where they broke their pattern. I thought this one was a little too predictable, but seeing Dwight Schulz act crazy and like the Big Man in the Neighborhood was nice, and having Starfleet get communication with Voyager felt like they actually accomplished something for a change. It's not my favorite, but it's up there.
Re: VOY: Pathfinder
I think the episode is pretty solid, but if I wrote the episode I would have made Neelix completely different, just a bit of a more "in your face" than the Maquis crew not wearing uniforms. After all, if he doesn't know the Maquis crew aren't wearing uniforms, why would he know what the cook looks like? Maybe have him act like a snooty french chef with a nose bump.

Re: VOY: Pathfinder
Voyager probably gave them the names of the Maquis who joined their crew and Starfleet just had them on file. Some of them were former Starfleet trainees after all, and Tuvok had been spying on them anyway.TGLS wrote: ↑Sun Mar 15, 2020 6:16 pm I think the episode is pretty solid, but if I wrote the episode I would have made Neelix completely different, just a bit of a more "in your face" than the Maquis crew not wearing uniforms. She only passed because the question was "tell Geordi to do it."

Am I the only one who remembers Riker having a cameo in this episode? Was that a different episode or did I just imagine it?
Re: VOY: Pathfinder
The only Voyager episode he was in was Death Wish.

To be fair, Troi is a mental health professional, not an astrophysicist. She does not have any necessary reason to know what physics theory Barclay was going on about.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Sun Mar 15, 2020 9:36 pm She only passed because the question was "tell Geordi to do it."

I think the problem is none of the writera knew how to write her, nor found a good enough reason to justify her as a main character that cause fans to tease her.Mickey_Rat15 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 16, 2020 1:59 amTo be fair, Troi is a mental health professional, not an astrophysicist.
