We in this country have socialised healthcare. Too many burgers today means my taxes go up tomorrow. Keep McDonald's shut, the health of the world will improve immensely.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 8:40 amHey, I know we disagree about a lot of things, but what the blueberry fuck is wrong with you?clearspira wrote: ↑Mon Mar 23, 2020 3:57 pm
The silver lining of corona: the obese forced to eat properly and less litter in the streets. Less pollution too.
Seriously?
Why did you decide that whether or not other people consume hamburgers was any of your drowned-in-the-river-Flegethon frelling business? What, did some fat person fuck your wife and burn down your house?

So, Johnson announced the Lockdown of Britain. Herd immunity not working as intended?

Herd immunity is working just fine. The problem is our comfortable western lifestyle that has bred us to know nothing else but freedom. When people are told "do not go to the pub because you will kill someone" many choose the option "fuck that old person I want a pint".Madner Kami wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 11:36 am So, Johnson announced the Lockdown of Britain. Japan with its hierarchal society has seen its cases at a low level. Why? Because they actually listened.

So what I am reading there is that UK is no different from most countries affected while Japan is different from most countries affected.

Actually the UK is different to most. It follows Italy's development considerably more closely, than anyone else's.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 1:23 pm So what I am reading there is that UK is no different from most countries affected while Japan is different from most countries affected.

As for Japan... That stands to reason. Japan has one of the lowest testing rates for CoViD-19. While it's likely on the lower end of the scale of infections, it very likely has one of the highest dark figures.

I thought it was a reasonable benefit of the doubt to just remark that pointing to Japan doesn't mean much as an example for UK.Madner Kami wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 3:13 pmActually the UK is different to most. A result of both a lot of self-centredness but also a lot of crying wolf over the years, and people having had it up to here with being preached at by idiots who are just as stupid as those completely ignoring all advice.clearspira wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 12:42 pmHerd immunity is working just fine. When did he advise people to self-administer chloroquine or hydrochloroquine?Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 8:37 am This should go without saying, but President 45 is dead wrong about the medical advice. Do NOT take hydroxychloroquine to treat or prevent Covid19! Not only is there a massive shortage for people who ACTUALLY need this medicine, but there's a lot of hospitals admitting people for hydroxychloroquine overdose poisoning.

If anyone is in any doubt, yes, Trump's proclamation that corona can be defeated by Easter is insane. The NY mayor is right to criticise.

HE TWEETED ABOUT IT DAYS AGO! I know it's hard to keep track of the rolling insanity that is These Times, but I'm not going to risk further psychic damage by scrolling through his twitter account to bring you the individual citation.Darth Wedgius wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 10:00 pmWhen did he advise people to self-administer chloroquine or hydrochloroquine?Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 8:37 am This should go without saying, but President 45 is dead wrong about the medical advice.
