Into the Spider-Verse
Re: Into the Spider-Verse
I really like this movie. To me Into the Spider-Verse is easily best Spider-Man movie so far. While SM2 is good and two MCU ones are solid if little too Tony Stark centric none of those are able to reach level of Into the Spider-Verse. I do think that they made right choice when focusing on Peter, Miles and Gwen while still using Noir, Penny and Spider-Ham some way.

Re: Into the Spider-Verse
While I do get Chuck on the Gwen/Peter B bits, but does mean that there some great aspects of the comic Spider-verse missing here, where Peter and Gwen's meeting was bittersweet for both of them, and both were really dead set on not having history repeat itself.
And I'm probably at odds with Chuck in that I actually like the House of M Spider-man was with Gwen, to show that while he loves MJ very much, Gwen is chance as the life he never could have had.
Oh and while I'm at my soapbox, I have to save I'm thankful that movie aged up Mile a bit and deaged Gwen a bit... and I just check and Post-Secret Wars Miles is supposed to 17, so I guess they didn't have to..
I really felt he was supposed to 13/14, and Gwen at about College Age (she a semi-professional drummer, she must be old enough to attend clubs, and her dropping out of High School isn't presented as really big deal).

Oh, and while Peter has little reaction to Gwen, I my headcanon is part of Gwen's annoyance at the party is "Really of all the people you chose her?"
See Earth-65 (Gwen's Earth named after the date of her debut) MJ, is her friend(ish).
She also the leader and lead vocals in the band that Gwen is the dummer of.
A band called... "The Mary Janes".
As the name suggests she a bit of Diva.
(The band is composed all of 616 Peter girlfriends with MJ on the vocals, Betty Brand on main, Gwen on Drums , Gloria Grant on keyboard")

Was not really expecting the last +4 minutes of the review to be a musical "fuck you" to "One More Day".
I mean... it makes sense.

Re: Into the Spider-Verse
Spider-ham is the equivalent of that talking dog in ''Men in Black''. In the first film he was in it for one scene, got a load of laughs, and became a breakout character as a result. So in ''Men in Black 2'' (among its many other problems) they decided to make him a fully fledged sidekick because hey, the audience wants more so lets give them more.CrypticMirror wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 6:16 pm Peni and Noir definitely needed more screentime, but I think Ham got just the right amount. He got enough to be funny, or to deliver and emotional moment, but too much and he'd have turned into a Neelix; always trying to jam a comedic moment into a dramatic one.
And he was annoying as hell.

One More Day is to Chuck what The Last Jedi is to many Star Wars fans or Picard/STD is to many Star Trek fans. He likes to keep his views under wraps when it comes to fan rage - but its there.Rocketboy1313 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 8:42 pm Was not really expecting the last +4 minutes of the review to be a musical "fuck you" to "One More Day".

It took 25 years but Mask of the Phantasm finally has a rival for the best animated comic book movie crown.
Re: Watch Background for Into the Spider-Verse a Day Early!
The original comic version of Spider-Verse was a mixed bag, they even killed off the Spider-Man from the critically acclaimed Marvel 1602 series.
Killed off the Peter Parker of the MC2 universe, who's the father of fan favorite Mayday Parker aka. Spider-Girl. However it was recently revealed at the end of the 2019 Spider-Geddon event that her father was revived by a spider totem called The Other.
Not even the Saturday Morning Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends version were spared. (Although there's another version of the characters still living on a separate Earth)

Also about the dots, who really cares about what Cinema-Sins say anymore?
