The great 2020 election thread....

In the case that newer Democrats implode the general? Sure. Biden will undoubtedly capture any drop of conservative Democrat uncertainty though.
I'll snatch a snippet from what Rocketboy wrote in his blog, because it nicely encapsulates, why this will not work out for Biden, but will help Trump:
Even if Bernie does not get 1 vote more, you should still want the process to run its course completely. It builds engagement, calling on people to do their part, and have their voice heard. Even if Bernie does not win, him winning delegates illuminates how different demographics feel and signals to Democrats what they should prioritize in the future.
You are not going to get the vast majority of Sanders-Voters to vote for Biden, if you discourage them from voting in the first place, precisely because of Sanders dropping out. You know what got Trump truely into his current position? The complete dissatisfaction with the political system, which gives voters the option to vote between two slightly different shades of brown. Trump is a FUCK YOU to the political system, so the cue for the democrats to win is, to shake the system to it's core, not to put more cement into their own shoes.

Now, don't get me wrong. I don't think Sanders is the Holy Grail or am particularly fond of him as a potential president, but if your primary problem is the lukewarm reception of your candidate and a lukewarm voter-turnout, then you need to set fire to your voter-base, not douse it in the same stale water that the party has been treading in the last decade(s). Change! got Obama into office, not "Eh, let's not be too hasty and let's take two steps back before we, maybe, make half a step forward".
"If you get shot up by an A6M Reisen and your plane splits into pieces - does that mean it's divided by Zero?

Maybe if Sander was the conventional candidate, but he's a radical. His message is effective socialism, which accounts for a lot of uncertainty among either side of the public. For starters, that's not for certain remedied by the bully pulpit. Another thing is that that's both a major gamble to front for a losing campaign, and also irresponsible by his own words in the unfortunate midst of the virus outbreak. His stint w/ Whoopie a few posts ago was indeed a campaign poster, characterized by his formal protest for reform as much as his personal bid for office. That works up to the point that his formal protest of *government* largely serves to disenfranchise the DNC. So cheers to that.

I voted for Warren. And apparently my vote wasn't wasted as my town voted Warren as well.

edit: actually we apparently voted Sanders (county). Sorry.

When it's the difference between cyanide and tetrodotoxin... I'll take cyanide.
