So much for the tolerant left.
So I'm intolerant because I don't want centrists and moderates to blame me if their lackluster candidate fails? What the heck, dude?
I'm on your side. I'm TRYING to depose evil and give the Democratic party a victory they won't whizz down their leg. Stop blowing me off every time i ask you to meet me one eighth of the way.
My bad. Sorry.
btw I was joking about the whole tolerant left thing and the other thing about voting.

I can sympathize to your plight. I want to also say I am a centrist, and I dislike Mr. Biden, though I also disliked Mr. Sanders. That being said, however... do any of the political battles of today really matter? In a thousand years, will we have made any actual real progress? The post-Communist utopia we were told about as kids turned out to be a lie. We should be more real with our kids, which is why I think Gen Z is turning out the way they are. We are not lying to them. There is lots of crap coming their way, and we need to be honest with them about it.
Of course they matter, because who lives and who dies matters, here and now. If you go by what will shape the world of a thousand years, why bother giving a flying fuck about anything? Just because we are not going to live in a Gene Rodenberry TNG setting, that's no excuse to shrug your shoulders, light up a blunt, and completely surrender any and all attempt to change things for the better!
In my city alone, 16 people have died of the virus already, people who might still be breathing if we had a president who listened to public health warnings and advisors and knew how to find his or her asshole with both hands and a flashlight. A lot of people might be alive today if the restaurant worker who infected them could afford to take time off with a sick day, or had a test available that they could afford. Don't you think that's a Political Battle of Today worth fighting?
Cripes this is why I don't get along with centrists.

Thank you. I'm sorry I misread that.

The impression I get is that it seems as if you're trying to shame me for who I am. In that sense you seem to demonstrate what was said in jest. We are, all of us, every human, just a mere cog in the machine. Even our leaders work that way. You can never achieve anything meaningful until tons of people come together to fight for it. That's also a historical precedent. This won't be the last outbreak. Mr. 45 will not be the last corrupt leader. And anything going on the Middle East will not be the last conflict. Tides swell, and we are pushed along with them.
You can still fight for something meaningful in your own small and individual way. It's why I was not out partying on the beach when this outbreak hit. No, you could become a carrier then. I give to charity when I am able to. And community works are a billion times more meaningful than engaging in toxic politics. You can't change the world. But you can make a dent. And you have to find your way to do so. Because if this is stressing you out that much, it is not healthy. Disconnect from it. And find other ways to focus that energy and passion to help. Though I could be misreading this.

There's probably a bunch of people that wouldn't blame you.

I'm trying to shame you for presenting political apathy as enlightment. However "toxic" politics are it IS a matter of life and death, something you keep dodging with your South Park Zen.
So please, spare me the "we are all in this together" and the purple prose. If it is your unchangeable nature to pat yourself on the back for keeping your hands clean, you can do so without inflicting hollow platitudes and Chicken Droppings for the Soul on me.

You're new here so let me give you some advice: that is what Fuzzy does.
I think perhaps on this topic, I should shut up now. Because like I said, not political. And it gets too toxic for me, like some corners of fandom. So, shutting up. I'm sorry if I offended anyone.

Keep in mind that Fuzzy necromancer celebrates the deaths of some people who don't subscribe to his political philosophy. That's the kind of man criticizing you.
That said, if you want to get out of an almost certainly pointless political debate on the internet, you're probably a smarter man than I am.

To be fair to your point, everybody coming together IS political organizing. That's the sole function of government. It's ultimately the most rational means of organized welfare formation among the public.
