I find it so amusing when leftists fall prey to the very same "you can't judge large groups" fallacious reasoning in bad faith they use when it furthers their cause.

You can't judge large groups of people by their race, sexual orientation, national origin, religion. You can judge large groups of people by the ideology they adhere to, the policies they support, the mass actions they participate in. This is a distinction you seem to ignore, Crimson.

Is it their ideology, or what you merely assume to think about them? Someone could have voted for Mr. 45, for example, while in severe opposition to his views on reproductive rights, and still have supported him because, say... well, something like how Darth Wedgius has remarked in the past, that they believe that so much widespread undocumented immigration taking place is a larger issue. Not that I am saying Darth holds those views, but that under your arbitrary definition, this would mean the hypothetical voter is more racist than sexist. Which do you think is more true to reality?Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Mon May 25, 2020 10:42 pm You can't judge large groups of people by their race, sexual orientation, national origin, religion. What actions? They're choosing what political issues they feel like compromising on, and which ones they don't. It's what we all do.

There is no room for nuance in the realm of orthodoxy.

I do admit to feeling a bit nonplussed. I agree certain actions do require a certain hard-line element of opposition, that it moves you past the line, but at the same time... there's a predator and a rat lurking underneath all of us. Our lower brains try to trick us, and it is through our conscious will that we could ever hope to rise above it.Madner Kami wrote: ↑Tue May 26, 2020 12:34 am There is no room for nuance in the realm of orthodoxy.
Yeah, I'm into all that Eastern spiritualism stuff.
Re: Trump Becomes "Lava Level Mad"
I don't know how anyone can rationally look at the effects of:
- Global warming: catastrophic loss of property and life on a scale much larger than coronavirus, enough to destabilize human civilization)
- Pollution rollbacks: thousands dead)
- Income inequality and wealth consolidation: look around
- Illegal immigration: ~1% decrease in income to lowest wage workers. Illegal immigrants are less likely to commit a crime than legal citizens. So generally... not much, really.
And go "yep, the last one, that's what we need to focus all our policy on." It more seems like the last one is a scapegoat for the bad stuff other policies are doing.
