If an attack on a civilian to enforce your political will is terrorism, what else do you call this:BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Fri Jun 05, 2020 1:46 pm Is Captain Crimson actually talking about any of that stuff?

Oh ha, as far as him saying that, yeah that's a pretty rational equivocation. Granted overall I'm questioning Captain's radical centrism through his supposition that there's no concernable distinction between Democrats and Republicans worth considering.GreyICE wrote: ↑Fri Jun 05, 2020 2:35 pmIf an attack on a civilian to enforce your political will is terrorism, what else do you call this:BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Fri Jun 05, 2020 1:46 pm Is Captain Crimson actually talking about any of that stuff?

Re: Another day, another police beating in America
Your post is largely unnecessary and seems to be based on the hard left's need for fear tactics, no different from the hard right with their call to fight white genocide, a nonsensical phrasing as I've ever seen bandied about for political purposes. You validate all the criticisms I've made, in how radicals like Mr. Moore want to reveal photographs taken after Sandy Hook to everybody out there, regardless if the parents agree with it or not. That taints your cause and invalidates your ultimate goal since I've already accepted that police can brutalize innocent people. And guess what else? Water is wet, you need food to survive, and air to breathe.
In my own personal experience dealing with the cops, though, it has never happened. Doesn't mean it hasn't to thousands of years and that is certainly something to be upset about. But you can't expect a world of sunshine and roses. We are not in this life to get make sure every criminal out there, whether they wear a badge or not, gets what they deserve. And my larger point is that there is no justification to burning down buildings. You've made this into a non sequtir and ad hominem, because that was my argument. Peaceful protests are fine. Arson is not.

Do we really need the twitter-style outing and shaming of posters? Emotional blackmailing and ad hominems might be great for retweets but it seems needlessly performative (not to mention lacking nuance) for a thread with maybe a dozen posters in it.

Just what I said. They want me to have an emotional gut-punch reaction to agree with them. "Where's your outrage?"ChiggyvonRichthofen wrote: ↑Fri Jun 05, 2020 5:09 pm Do we really need the twitter-style outing and shaming of posters? I've seen this talking point over and over and over again. Where's my outrage? Honestly, if I was to spend every waking moment feeling outraged over some new injustice cooked up by the fallen members of our human race, I'd be nonstop angry. That's no way to live. Why are these people as deserving of my outrage and not, say, anyone else? Throughout history? Even distant history and not recent history?

Don't bother trying to converse with Captain Crimson anymore folks, his comment about "collective guilt" should have told you everything you needed to know about his character. I'm done discussing anything with him.

Yeah it's more of a black history thing than a leftist thing. Though there is a basis of overlap.

Captain Crimson, let me tell you something. I do not give a FUCK about looting or broken windows or burning shopping centers.
I care about police brutality and unpunished murder. Despite your claims of centrism, you care a whole lot more about broken windows and property values than crushed throats and cracked skulls. Shame on me for trying to engage with you in good faith.
Go to the crows.

Re: Another day, another police beating in America
57 officers from the Buffalo Police Department have resigned as a show of support for the officers that were suspended without pay for shoving a 75 year old man that put him in critical condition.

If that's what police brotherhood is all about, then these departments should be disbanded like the Minneapolis PD has been.
