You have been propagandized - the victim of propaganda. This is not surprising, or shocking. Most people like to think they're immune, but the facts are that there are people who have spent decades and millions studying how best to influence others. You are taking your lone self against millions of dollars and hundreds of people who have done research for decades.

There are certainly people who are spoiling for a fight. I heard something very insightful once from a former street preacher - he said that when he converted people to Christianity, given them a positive impression, when he'd told people about Jesus and they thanked him, he felt a warm glow. Like he did a little good, and it helped him come out again a bit. But when someone told him he was a deluded nutcase? He'd scream at them and tell them they were going to hell, and he'd be fired up for weeks.

There's people who just want the adrenaline rush of a fight. Not because the victory serves a purpose, but because they're just there to scrap. They split people into "people I can scrap against", "people who have my back" and "the great unwashed silent ones". They can be pretty awful people who don't really share an allegiance to any cause, good or bad. I hear the term "social justice warriors" was originally coined to refer to them for a hot minute before their counterparts on the right co-opted it to refer to anyone who wants to discuss racism, sexism, or any one of a number of issues important to our society.


But lets be very fucking clear, DBF: The problem is the fucking white supremacists. The problem is that they've joined the police departments, the problem is that a coalition of corporate interests, white supremacists, and rich meddling have created a police department that serves not as civil servants, but to keep the people in line. And that our society has been reworked not to serve the people, but to make people servile. To teach them that they have to obey the rules, stay in the lines, and that the rules are the rules and that makes them right. That's the problem.

The fact that you've made more categorical condemnations of "social justice people" than cops... no, than SLAVE OWNERS... do you see the edges of the propaganda you've been exposed to? I don't know who Steve Shives is. Maybe he's super mainstream and this big singer or actor or something and I'm out of touch. But maybe you know about him because he's been tied up, and packaged up, and delivered to you with a bow for you to consume, and you consumed, and you thought what millions of dollars of research told them you'd think.

You keep saying "all of the social justice types you see"... where do you see them? How do you see them? Twitter? Who told you to follow them? How are their words getting to you, and whose words aren't getting to you? How did those specific words get to your ears, and what is bringing them to you?

What these are are actionable policy items, research telling you why the group believes they should be enacted, and why. I'm willing to bet a fair sum of money you've never seen them. But I'll also bet you've seen some ridiculous "this is what BLM supports" screenshot, twitter post, etc.

Why have you never seen reasonable solutions from one of the larger and more prominent groups to come out of the Ferguson protests? And why have you instead seen "Social justice people behaving poorly" many, many times? It's not a coincidence that you've seen one and not the other, it's not chance. It's millions of dollars of research, and against millions, and millions of people? It works.

His point was like, initiating it with; no, not all conservatives are all x,y, and z, but there is a degree of complicity, especially I presume when voting for the Republican party president. I'm sure that that was specifically crucial to the context of Trump being more or less hand in hand with them.

A generalization, possibly, but he does try to come out measured in his responses.

edit: then again I think there might be two similar videos where he talks on that subject a bit, but I do remember the video of him saying "duh you can be conservative and like Trek. I don't know why you would, but" it goes without saying, or something to that effect.
