While appropriation is pretty zero tolerance with native emblems, all I've heard about the Indians is that the mascot makes it look cartoonish and goofy.phantom000 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 4:11 am I wonder if the Cleveland Indians will have change as well and whether or not they will try to put a ban on Major League and Major League II.

That is I have heard too. It's their mascot and not their name that is the problem.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Fri Jul 17, 2020 2:30 amWhile appropriation is pretty zero tolerance with native emblems, all I've heard about the Indians is that the mascot makes it look cartoonish and goofy.phantom000 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 4:11 am I wonder if the Cleveland Indians will have change as well and whether or not they will try to put a ban on Major League and Major League II.

All I can is good. I cannot think of anywhere outside of America where sports teams use rascist terminology as part of their name.

I think it's more the case where the racist connotation dictates the more generic facet of its lexicology. Meaning that the removal is more to do with the semblance and not the intention.unknownsample wrote: ↑Fri Jul 17, 2020 1:55 pm All I can is good. Big football fan, and about damn time. Trust me, the only way it could be better is if Dan Snyder got apoplexy and died. Between his amazing management, ongoing racism, and just generally being a horrible person, there's only three groups of people who would be sad if he died tomorrow.

Giants fan here. I want him to stay because he is even worse than Jerry Jones in how he can fuck up his team. At least Jerry Jones is somewhat competent and has put people in place that can run the organization fairly well.GreyICE wrote: ↑Fri Jul 17, 2020 8:05 pm Big football fan, and about damn time. Redskins haven't been relevant for a long time outside anomaly seasons here and there.

Yep, Giants fans, Eagles fans, and Cowboys fans are indeed the three groups I was referring to. Snyder's gigantic ego makes him think he can do everything and totally ruins their ability to get good coaches. Jerry can sometimes swallow his to get good coaches, but Snyder has no ability to. It's truly shocking how long his run of not getting along with coaches has been - I just checked and in 17 seasons he's had 8 head coaches.McAvoy wrote: ↑Sun Jul 19, 2020 1:14 amGiants fan here. Come on, don't you get tired of watching two Redskins games a year?

Well as a Giants fan, my team isn't much better. If it wasn't for the Redskins being worse, the Giants would have been statistically worse than even the Browns.GreyICE wrote: ↑Sun Jul 19, 2020 9:30 amYep, Giants fans, Eagles fans, and Cowboys fans are indeed the three groups I was referring to. But Redskins are bring down the division. Don't like our division being called NFC Least.

Re: 'The Washington Redskins will retire their name and logo'
The Giants have had some good years though. Some really good years with Eli. Come on, you took two rings from Tom Brady. That's insane. Yeah, Daniel Jones currently walks into sacks like its his business, but it's hard to deny your franchise has done some really impressive crap. If Jones can develop some awareness and pocket presence, you could put things back together.
The deadskins are just shit. In the time you've picked up two superbowls, they've what, lost a playoff game once or twice? I can't even remember if they've won a playoff game in the Snyder era. I feel like they have to have, but they're just that perpetually garbo.

I've seen some people suggest the Opossums, for playing dead at home and getting flattened on the road.
