I posted an article about a monument to the victims of communism being vandalized by antifa.
GREYIce used it as an opportunity to deride me.
You and yours wouldn't draw the line then, so I don't really care, as long as the line gets drawn.

Plz don't go with the "It wasn't really communism" line. It was, and when we finally accept that, we can stop it from happening again.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Sat Jul 18, 2020 8:33 pm I don't think anti-USSR is really anti communism. USSR was always known as an oppressive regime even when it was with the Allies.

I'm really not sure where this line of opposition was going. USSR was incredibly problematic, as were the policies of Venezuela. China has rather open markets but has proven to still have totalitarian initiatives among its public. Cuba for the most part has run a sustainable economy the whole time, limited mainly by its lack of trade cooperation and foreign investment marketing, and yeah is kind of a butthole with its government arm.Antiboyscout wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 1:32 amPlz don't go with the "It wasn't really communism" line. Communism in praxis isn't about just either hippie ownership or draconian dictators. Norway's model is highly socialistic, and I'm assuming that anti-communist propaganda would shit all over it in practice.

Communism - A theory or system of social organization in which all property is owned by the community and each person contributes and receives according to their ability and needs.Antiboyscout wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 1:32 amPlz don't go with the "It wasn't really communism" line. If you think that describes USSR or China then you know F-all about the USSR or China. I'll give you a more accurate description:
Chinese and Russian Communism - A form of capitalism whereby the rich get richer and the poor have even less chance than under actual capitalism.
Lets this straight: True communism is only possible with a post-scarcity economy where machines now pretty much run our lives for us because there will always be a man/woman on top who is more equal than everyone else and there will always be an over-abundance of poor compared to the rich because the rich are the ones in power - and they don't want to give you what they have.
Modern capitalism is the same and we see this with Trump; a man who owns a skyscraper covered in gold that managed to convince enough of the working class that somehow its everyone else's fault but the people who own skyscrapers covered in gold for their bad living conditions.

True communism is also possible in a starvation economy where survival is an issue. Imagine being on a desert island where you are fighting just to survive. You can't possibly have meaningful private goods, because everyone has to use everything to live. But that's another economy where money isn't an issue (granted for the exact opposite reason).
Regardless, I'd need to look into this division, I've never heard of them. But man, siding with the Nazis to fight the USSR... I dunno if that deserves commemoration. An SS division. Christ. I wonder how many Jews they killed in addition to fighting the USSR. Betting it was non-zero.

This is exactly the 'no true communism' attitude that leads to so much destruction. Simply dismissing the failures out of hand instead of learning from them will only lead to more failures. Of course, if communist took a good long look at their ideology they just might realize it's rotten to the core and have to give it up. No way in hell they'd do that.clearspira wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2020 5:45 pm Communism - A theory or system of social organization in which all property is owned by the community and each person contributes and receives according to their ability and needs.

the CEO of Walmart earned 24 million last year.
Walmart has around 2.2 million employees.
if we were to redistribute the ceo's salary to all those employees they would get around 11 bux
11 bux an hour? a month? NO a YEAR. Happy Christmas bonus.
you want everyone to be a millionaire? go to Venezuela.

I dunno man, are you sure? Seems like we could have a lot of economic systems that don't involve dying of thirst because Nestle stole the water from your well sand sold it back as a luxury good.
