Should they be fun? They should be interesting, which isn't the same thing.

I'd take that as a joke, but yes, certain museums should be fun! Seattle has the Museum of Pop Culture, which I always make a point to take people to because in addition to always having neat exhibits, it's always fun. A museum of pop culture that isn't fun would miss the entire point of pop culture. You can't have a Jazz museum that doesn't have some sweet Jazz, and that's fun. Science museums that spark children's interest in science by being fun are great. Yes, you could show them dry experimental setups and boring formulas, but a cool ball exhibit that shows off physics, or crackling electrical discharges showing plasma formation are neat!

On the other hand, if the Holocaust museum is "fun" something has gone horribly wrong somewhere.

So yes, depending on the subject, how a museum approaches the subject should change. I don't think there's a "one size fits all" approach to museums.

Fair point depending on the subject. There's certainly a place for fun.

Not necessarily fun I guess. Chief goal is to be historically informative obviously. I guess fun has pretty implicit levels that some people will take to more or less pretty easily, but other words that come to mind might be engaging for instance.

As we've been discussing for a few pages, culture is neither positive nor negative. Cultures may have some negative aspects, but culture as a whole is more complex than "good and bad".

The world does not exist in strict binaries. Your culture may be different from someone else's, and that's okay. It doesn't make you wrong, and it doesn't make them wrong. You're simply approaching with two different backgrounds and two sets of values that differ in some respects.

It is important for us as a country to talk about race. We thank those who shared concerns about our ‘Talking About Race” online portal. We need these types of frank and respectful interchanges as we as a country grapple with how we talk about race and its impact on our lives. We erred in including the chart. We have removed it, and we apologize.
That's good. But the diseased thinking that caused it might still be there.
and their sorry they "included" it, not what was on it or creating it in the first place.

and they fell back on the old bullsh*t line of "starting a conversation" every progressive activist or group uses when whey say or post something this garbage.
Yeah, the starting a conversation excuse has also been used for calling for white genocide.
Okay, can you define 'White Genocide' for me? Are we talking 'round up the white people in camps' or my parents 'if the races intermingle, then "white" people will just stop existing'. Also define 'white', because that could mean anything from 'European-descended' to 'Anglo-Saxon-descended' to just 'pale skinned'. Because, at various points, Italians, The Irish, and the Jewish, didn't count as 'white', at least in the USA, so you've GOT to be specific, there.
You'd have to ask the person who called for it.
Ciccariello-Maher's tweets are private, but they've been reported by the Philadelphia Inquirer as saying "All I Want for Christmas is White Genocide."
https://www.cnn.com/2016/12/26/health/drexel-professor-white-genocide-trnd/index.html

He later said he was just trying to start a conversation.

I think that, however it's defined, it's unlikely to be a good thing. I mean, how often does Hallmark come out with a Wishing You a Wonderful Genocide card?

Though if they did, people would complain that they were over-commercializing genocide.

Something interesting that I heard on the radio a few days ago. The person said to this list with every qualification starting with 'Blacks are incapable of'.

And I suppose they pointed to stuff like cranial sizes and used Haiti as a observational example?

Ah, you're not interested in a conversation here, you're interested in a narrative, and pushing it.
