If I'm being chased by an angry mob and they start beating me, if I have a gun I'm going to shoot. The first shootee may or may not have deserved it. We don't know. There have been plenty of beatings and violence from the left, and the first shooting may have been justified. Or it may not have been. But he didn't just shoot someone and run, he shot someone, hung around, and was chased away.
