Like, the biggest revamp the Daleks got was the toyetic 'New Gen' ones during Series 5 (they were supposed to have distinct ranks and roles, hence the color-coding). It didn't last, no one liked it.
Oh god. I'd forgotten.
Toss me in the group of people who don't like Taste the Rainbow Daleks.
Go Go Dalek Rangers!
Yeah, the design isn't bad and I think if they had stuck with one colour they would have been fine, but Dalek/Power Rangers was not something I think anyone was ready for.
The Dalek design is a classic and I do like that when the new series came to redesigning them they didn't change much, it was basically making the chassie look like real metal and giving the eye light in the eyestalk the ability to dilate, which gave the Daleks more options to emote, also I really like the Dalek design from the New Years Special "Resolution", that one was basically the Tony Stark of Daleks, I love that cobbled together look for it.
I also really like all the Cybermen designs, especially the first design that was more human than machine that poor Bill Potts became, and I do like that the changes are addressed in-universe, specifically with that two part finally of Season 10 that had poor Bill Potts becoming a Cyberman after having a hole shot through her chest and spending years waiting for the Doctor to come save her(NO I'M NOT SAITLY THAT HAPPENED, WHY WOULD YOU THINK THAT), and it makes sense that a race that would "upgrade" themselves would continue to do so, becoming less and less human with each design.
