Microsoft has bought Bethesda
Re: Microsoft has bought Bethesda
ZeniMax was doing just fine being a gigantic soulless behemoth on its own, though. At least Microsoft holds 3 of the 4 shards of power for the Fallout/Wasteland universes now.

Only if the engine changes, and if they do then it had better not be at the expense of interactivity with the gameworld (much greater than most, which probably at least partially explains the bugs) and the ability to mod.Rocketboy1313 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2020 9:37 pm At least it is not EA who would put them in charge of something they have no experience with.
Microsoft might force them to stop releasing material that is so bug heavy and mod dependent?
The games can be improved with mods but IMO it's unfair to say mod dependent; they may be much better games with but they're generally still good vanilla.

The highest rated mod on all of the marketplaces for Fallout 4 and Skyrim are fan mods that just exist to patch bugs that the fan community found.
To say nothing of the mods being presented as endless DLC by Bethesda when they are selling the game.

I'm going to prepare the defenses if Bethesda has the Bronze Bells to sneak in and steal GameWork-Shop of Fallout, Elder scrolls, GTA, Metroid, and other small companies with 4 million followers.

Just say, I can't be arsed to watch a video (based on past experience there's a high chance it'll annoy me).Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Fri Sep 25, 2020 9:42 pmLet me explain why you're wrong...Riedquat wrote: ↑Fri Sep 25, 2020 7:55 pmOnly if the engine changes, and if they do then it had better not be at the expense of interactivity with the gameworld (much greater than most, which probably at least partially explains the bugs) and the ability to mod.Rocketboy1313 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2020 9:37 pm At least it is not EA who would put them in charge of something they have no experience with.

Sorry, caught me on a bad day.
That said I do make it a principle to only respond to arguments given in posts. I've seen too many people on forums just post links rather than make their own points, it happens frequently enough that I've made it a rule to not bother with any post that doesn't state its own point. By all means use links for "for more information (or more detail)" or "here's evidence that I'm not just making this up" (good old "citation needed ), but aside from that they have to stand on their own legs.

Okay then, I'll make the post. Bethesda is so sub-functional that they bank on modders fixing their innumerable bugs. What kind of Open World coding is so demanding that you have to have trains work by temporarily turning the character's head into a train and making them run very fast?
