As someone who lives in the UK, I wish I could get CBS All Access as I'm missing on Lower Decks, I've been able to watch Discovery and Picard because I have Netflix and Amazon Prime.
I also think it isn't a matter of extremes, there are people who do want to watch Discovery and will pay a subscription to do so, but there are people that are unwilling or unable to do so and either have to wait for the Blu-Ray or find another service.
On this same note, no Zargon, not every Discovery fan is of the "hip and cool" type that they always have to be watching that "new" show like the rest of their social group, I'm a fan of Discovery and Picard and I don't have a social group to impress, I don't even have any friends... check and mate.

No, what was asked was, "Why are DIscovery fans not turning up to the show?"
And I said, "Because Discovery fans have probably already seen it"

Where is the difference between "in the Trek Universe all people, human and alien, are the same" and "wokeness"?Zargon wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 12:18 amNo it's not. It's nothing like the Woke modern idea.
In another thread, it was said, that "Woke" would be "rebel scum", so, it's just "the rebels" from the viewpoint of the "empire". If that is true, then Trek was always "woke", since the only persons, who would've called it that, were those, who were annoyed by the SJW-Nature of Trek.

You can like that or not as you will, but you're flatly wrong.

So "SJW" = "rebels" and "woke" is just a label by "the empire", did I get that right?

Re: Star Trek changing direction
While I'm very much a progressive, I have to admit I can't follow the various slang terms to all this anymore.
Its hard to understand who is saying what.

Re: Star Trek changing direction
It's like a euphemism treadmill. Anti-progressives called progressives SJWs, then progressives started calling themselves SJWs. Progressives used woke positively, then the anti-progressives started throwing it in their face. This will continue until one side wins.
