Re: So Trump has Covid-19
I don't want Trump to die. I want him to suffer the indignity of losing the election, seeing the GOP turn their backs on him when he cries for help, be put in jail for tax evasion, and live up to 100 so that when he passes he'll have no friends or family to comfort him. He'll just be alone in a nursing home slowly and painfully dying as an absolute loser of a human being like Robert DeNiro's character at the end of THE IRISHMAN. Nothing left in him but regret.
But I'm sure only a fraction of that will happen. Either way, if COVID gets him he is essentially getting away with all his crimes as far as I'm concerned. I hope the doctors keep him alive.

Frankly, I think that's a somewhat silly way to look at it. Trump will have been killed by his own science, medical, and disease denial. Gaining a disease at a confirmation hearing for someone he wants to use to dismantle Medicaid.Makeshift Python wrote: ↑Sun Oct 04, 2020 8:36 am I don't want Trump to die. That's like the black hatted villain drowning because he stole a bag of gold and tried to go swimming with it.

I can't agree. I had publicly said that I had horribly mixed feelings on Newtown. One, the obvious, so many dead children, senselessly, that turned my stomach, by a monster that people somehow want to defend. Oh sure, you had scores of people condemning him as horrific, sure, but for every 20 or 30 of those to agree he's a stone-cold murderer and psychopath who deserves a short supply of compassion doled out, too many others fell back on the usual excuses, "mental illness" and "some humanistic qualities."CharlesPhipps wrote: ↑Sun Oct 04, 2020 11:02 amFrankly, I think that's a somewhat silly way to look at it. While perhaps true, at the same time, that cannot change what he did. And I would have generally liked to have put Lanza on trial. He cheated us out of that. And don't deny there is really something very satisfying about putting utterly amoral trash like on a proceeding in the presence of your peers, to face judgment, as he judged others, babies barely out of the crib, to so gruesome a death. We did not get that. So I could understand Makeshift Python's sentiments here. You can also make the same argument as an elected official, Mr. 45 is in a position to enact far worse cruelties.
I'm not saying flog, flay, assault, sexually abuse, castrate, beat, whip him, then take out his entrails and burn them, mind you. Just that it would be satisfying to see a counterbalance come to him. That being said, as I've harped on, it is an imperfect world. Settle for what you can get. Since I had never seen anything like Newtown, and now that's the world we live in, sadly. I just hope there's never another like it.

For a man with Odo as his avatar, you do have an interesting view of justice.Makeshift Python wrote: ↑Sun Oct 04, 2020 8:36 am I don't want Trump to die. Sadly, I feel like that message was sent when the Republicans voted against impeachment and acquitted a guilty man. Any crimes he's arrested for afterward will not make up for that betrayal of American principles. The message has already been sent. It's now up to us to pick up the pieces. Like OJ being arrested for armed robbery later and his victims' lawsuit, it's too little too late to truly undo the damage.

On Sunday, Jha repeated that assessment, noting that it was unclear whether Trump could suffer long-term damage to his lungs. Some patients have breathing trouble even after their initial recovery, he noted.
Although doctors have only released incomplete information, Jha said it appears Trump has a moderate case of COVID-19.
“I don’t think he’s out of the woods yet. He could get worse,” Jha said. “And I think he needs very close monitoring.”
Like other steroids, dexamethasone can have significant side effects that could have an impact on Trump’s ability to work. Those can include irritability, mood swings and trouble sleeping, according to medical experts. By reducing fever and discomfort, it can also make patients feel temporarily better even if their illness and risk haven’t changed, Dr. Robert M. Wachter, head of the Department of Medicine at UC San Francisco, said on Twitter.
The National Institutes of Health recommends use of the drug for COVID-19 patients who need supplemental oxygen, but cautions against it in mild cases.

While I'm personally not THAT invested in 2020, merely past not wanting to have wasted my resources, look at it this way. If you do believe in massive, system-wide voter disenfranchisement (and I'm not saying it isn't happening, mind you - I just am skeptical of how the media reports it), then this will surely slow it down, as Mr. 45 is hardly the only republican to fall prey to it recently.

that kind of thinking makes it all the more easy for you to one day do horrible things yourself. now, I'm questioning what you said about you promising to try and keep protests peaceful, seems you think all cops deserve to die.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Fri Oct 02, 2020 8:11 amI would think that somebody from the country that made "Ding Dong the Witch Is Dead" trend through sheer force of requests when Thatcher died might understand this.clearspira wrote: ↑Fri Oct 02, 2020 6:31 amAh, the tolerant left. Its almost as if you see yourself as Superman and yet would actually do well on an episode of The Boys.
You know why Wile Coyote getting blown up is funny? Because he's the one who hits the dynamite he set up with a hammer because it won't explode.
The man who spent months trying to convince people that masks are bullshit, that the virus was a hoax created by the deep state to frustrate him, all while trading insider tips and suppressing public health information to stop the stock market from wobbling, is now sick with the disease that he did so much to spread it might as well be a major campaign donor.
I never claimed to be part of the Tolerant Left. I'm part of the frustrated, downtrodden, and miserable left that has suffered at the hands of egotistical blowhards who would sell me and everyone I personally know to an organ-harvesting plant for one diet coke.
So maybe there are some people who can make me feel bad for this, but you? You're not one of them. Keep wagging your bony finger and lamenting the foul and uncouth ways of the horrible leftist rabble. I, meanwhile, shall lift a glass and take heart that, for once in his horrible, horrible little life, this quintessentially evil man's actions have had a negative consequence for him that he can't buy or bully or cheat his way out of.

Oh such bullshit. Because someone hates Trump they're a bunch of terrorists who want cops to die. That's your fucking argument? The guy who mocks dead soldiers as "losers" is the guy who cares about boys in blue? Fucking nonsense.Dragon Ball Fan wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 1:55 am that kind of thinking makes it all the more easy for you to one day do horrible things yourself. now, I'm questioning what you said about you promising to try and keep protests peaceful, seems you think all cops deserve to die.
I hate Donald Trump but what I want from cops is for them to stop killing people and there to be a less violent police force. I would never another cop be shot ever. I think the militarization of the police endangers them as much as it does those killed by stupidly written rules of engagement.
And let me ask a question. "Did you like it when Osama Bin Ladin died?" "Does that makes you want all cops to die?"
Serious question.
I am an actual pacifist in REAL LIFE and find this shit logic.
