For me, it's not that blurry. Unless they did something to oppose his rule, in some small way, I hate them too.
We have a word for people who supported Hitler, not because they hated the Jews, but because of economic anxiety, or because they thought it would bring jobs, or they wanted Germany to be powerful again, or they didn't want to rock the boat, or they thought they could personally benefit from it.
They're called Nazis. Nobody cares about their motives anymore.
But hey, I don't have to hate his supporters, because they will likely die horribly with or without my hatred, because he spews virus all over his inner circle, his Rose Garden gathering, his supporter rallies, his fundraising events, etc. Because that is exactly the type of person he is. And his followers are the type of people who will ignore medical science and refuse to social distance or wear masks.

Also, if he died not from the Covid19 itself, but from the steroids he was taking to keep him upright and able, that would be hilarious.

Re: So Trump has Covid-19
my point was, that, hating someone to the point of wishing horrible death on them makes it easier for you to do it more and more people, even if you won't cross the line and do something yourself, you will be normalizing that kind of thinking. like you said, you'd cheer if someone murdered Trump. Well, like it or not, that person would be a criminal and he's be arrested and the end result would likely be that the killer will die as well by lethal injection.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 4:12 amIf it did, there would be a lot more serial killers. Contrary to movies tropes and detective shows, serial killers are extremely rare. There were enough people celebrating the death of Margaret Thatcher to drive "Ding Dong, the Witch Is Dead" to the top of the charts through force of requests alone. There was no dramatic outbreak of serial killers around that time.Dragon Ball Fan wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 3:35 amagain, that kind of thinking will lead you to become a serial killer. no matter who it is, murder should never be celebrated. if I get called out for dehumanizing Hitler, why can't I call you out for this?Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 2:48 amI didn't even see footage of a cop getting hit with a brick. I'm following different news sources than you, remember?Dragon Ball Fan wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2020 11:23 pmokay, fine but I care about someone holding hate in their heart because that can lead to materiel evil with materiel consequences. again, did you cheer when that cop got a brick thrown at him, would you cheer if a vigilante murdered Trump in his sleep?Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2020 11:06 pm "Not being hated and despised" isn't a human right.
Sleep murder nothing, I'll laugh my ass off if somebody rips 45's head off and spit down his neck. I'll drink champagne if I learn that he choked to death on his own lung fluids. And you know why?
Because I'm saving my empathy, compassion, and kindness for the reporters and staff he willfully exposed by ripping off his mask when he walked into the white house, and the secret service agents he infected because he wanted to make the stock market go up by driving around, and everyone he has condemned to a slow, horrible death because even when it infects him, personally, he does more for corona virus than he does for his constituents.
Don't ask me to have sympathy for the devil's incompetent nephew.
Maybe you got called out for dehumanizing Hitler, but not me. Hating Hitler doesn't make you a potential serial killer. Hating Nazis doesn't make you a potential serial killer. Hating your high school bully doesn't even make you a potential serial killer.
Would you charge me with attempted murder if I stuck a pin into an orange doll with a tuft of our president's horrible fake hair in it?

I dunno, at this point it's not really a joke anymore and it seems he really has dramatically increased his chance of death or permanent injury by ignoring basic health measures.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 4:49 am Also, if he died not from the Covid19 itself, but from the steroids he was taking to keep him upright and able, that would be hilarious.

I don't disagree but I also don't think the world works like the Dark Side of the Force either. A person who hates a guy who has killed countless people, endangered your livelihood, and done terrible damage to what you believe in isn't necessarily going to pass that anger onto someone else in your life. Corran Horn brings this up with Luke Skywalker in I, JEDI. He's not RIGHT in the end but he's not wrong either.Dragon Ball Fan wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 5:00 am

It's best not to hate but maybe the hate will die with the one its directed at and life will go on.

Then I'm sorry, but you ARE a political extremist, no ifs, ands, or buts about it, and people abhor political extremism. You're literally shaming people who have zero influence and clout to shape events across an international scale with the state government warping information in order to suit their own agenda.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 4:47 am For me, it's not that blurry. It's interesting what people think to be extreme. I used to be a libertarian fundamentalist, moved to progressive theistic anarchism, and then became a mainstream democrat because anarchism opened too many possibilties for fascists or corporatists to take over.Captain Crimson wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 6:27 amThen I'm sorry, but you ARE a political extremist, no ifs, ands, or buts about it, and people abhor political extremism. My positions are extreme....only to people who find them so.

Since when did laughing at a horrible evil man's misfortunes make me heartless or put me on the path to becoming a serial killer?Dragon Ball Fan wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2020 8:59 pmI will never stop thinking this kind of mindset is heartless.Makeshift Python wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2020 5:52 pm You paid your taxes. I generally tend to feel that those without an elected authority, being in the public eye, having loads of money, or commanding a good number of other people, whatever personal flaws they hold, are at least on the same level as one another and to hate on them when we are all tribal human beings at heart is a radical way to think. Hold them responsible for direct moral failings and crimes of their own doing. Not guilt by association. That's a very facepalm logical fallacy. Was every citizen in the USSR guilty for their leaders? Or Communist China or Mussolini's Italy? How about Pol Pot and Cambodia? Kinda feel like we're on a ticket to nowhere, so! I think I shall give up debating it over, at least for now.

So it's pretty much agreed that voting for Biden is marginally better than voting for Trump. Wonderful debate, folks. Can't wait for 4 years of blue.
