Now it doesn't matter how much you may have enjoyed that meal when you ate it, that extra bit of terrible knowledge means you will never remember that fondly again.
Unless you're into that kind of thing.
There's no accounting for taste

I think what people have mentioned regarding their own feelings with the ending shows a difference in how it was it experienced.
They did re-write the ending from a distant finale where a bunch of nonsensical things happened, it was implied everyone died and a new civilisation was built from the wreckage thousands of years later (with a "now buy DLC!" pop up).

At the moment of the game's release, people didn't believe that was the ending, they couldn't even get an answer from BioWare as to whether or not that was the ending which lead to a theories that EA was making them release the real ending as paid for DLC, or the "indoctrination theory" which made sense of the illogical ending and series of events by making it into a dream sequence.

Then BioWare called their fanbase whiny and entitled for not getting how "deep" their writing was.

With all the drama gone, the rewritten ending and the zero expectations from new players due to the endings bad reputation. Mass Effect 3's ending experience can now just be merely considered bad, rather than worst ending to a piece of fiction ever created by mankind.

One good thing that seemed to come from it that was MrBTongue's "tasteful understated nerdrage" videos on the subject and the and the in depth analysis of people loved the series (and hated the ending) were the basis for the Citadel DLC.
Thread ends here. Cut along dotted line.

Well, hands on for Mass Effe Andromeda are hitting the web. Apparently there is no level cap so you can max out ALL your skills. Between that and the ability to swap between 12 powers on the fly I think I can safely show you what my endgame Ryder will be like in terms of ability:

In fact I will be making a Female Ryder based of Chucks version of Janeway...so by the end I can give this speech to the residents of the Andromeda galaxy.

I absolutely love ME3: Citadel, but while playing it I had a revelation.

Citadel is Star Trek Nemesis done right.

Think about it; one last romp with our heroes (in production order anyway; just roll with it), evil clone, old friends coming back...

Imagine for a second how AWESOME Nemesis would've been if they'd just cut the dramatic stuff and Data dying, letting Patrick Stewart play both parts, have Chief O'Brien take part in the story...

I'm not the only one who thinks this, right?

I knew about the ending long before I played it, but I was still disappointed. I found the extended cut DLC didn't really address any of the problems I'd seen others discuss when the game first came out.

I think Gavin (Miracle of Sound) explained it best:

After all that awesomeness and build-up... THAT'S IT?!

I'm not overly excited about Andromeda, personally. Or at all, really.

A perfectly acceptable reaction. I post the videos since this is a thread about Mass Effect, and though Shepards tale is over the franchise continues for now.

I didn't even bother getting the DLCs, seeing how much the way Bioware handled the ending and the subsequent debacle soured me on the entire series. Which is a shame since until I got to the end of 3, I liked this series and also the game itself despite some issues that until then I could gloss over for the good content.
I used to replay both ME1 and 2 regularly but I haven't touched any of those games since, and I cannot muster much interest for Andromeda either.
That said I hope it's going to be a good game for those that haven't given up on franchise.
