Fair reason, I guess. I recall that show had a lot of censorship, since it's one of the racier anime.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Fri Oct 09, 2020 10:53 pm Yeah, they changed him to Hercule for the English dub because they thought somebody named "Mr Satan" on a cartoon might provoke some controversy, and the Satanic Panic was still going on.

Re: The great 2020 election thread....
and I may read any replies to this but I need to get away from this topic for real. I've been brainwashed into thinking anyone who votes for Trump is a bad person despite knowing my dad is a good person, trying to reconcile those things has driven me to a near breakdown, has caused me to fight with my dad, which isn't good for his blood pressure and it makes my dog a nervous wreck who messes on the floor because we can't argue about this wile not near her.
also, can you not see how some people would think that the covid crisis and the riots just so happening on an election year is being used for political gain and no one really cares about the issues own their own?
and I know things are bad for a lot of people but besides some hot topic news stories and a general feeling that white nationalism is on the rise but still a minority, no one in my life has really suffered these past four years. Trump is at worse, merely a symptom of a bigger problem.

Nobody here has the resources to brainwash you. If your opinions change because of things you read in an internet reviewer's forum, that's probably because they made sense to you.
It's a bummer that you're having family strife, blood pressure and all, and I'm particularly sorry to hear about your dog, but I don't think anyone here told you to get into fights with your dad.
I can also say with certainty that lots of people care about the covid crisis as a thing unto itself, regardless of the political implications. It's just that one side of the aisle is trying to solve that crisis, and another side is pretending it's no big deal.
I do want to ask, do you have a therapist?

already under consideration and brainwashed was hyperbole but wasn't sure how else to say it.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Tue Oct 13, 2020 11:53 pm Have you tried telephone or zoom therapy sessions? I've been regularly having appointments by phone with mine it it works great for me.

Here is one thing that concerns me, since... does anyone really expect Mr. 45 to die at this point? And now he's going around preaching that he's cured, and reverting to downplay rhetoric, as we all knew he would. Two concerns here, since he's become the living avatar to his own message, his own politically motivated talking points.
1) In downplaying COVID, using himself as an example, people might take a "follow the leader" approach, that results in more deaths.
2) And as the avatar to his own message, that has certain benefits. Earlier this month, I'd felt the pendulum had swing to Mr. Biden and the DNC. I now think it might shift the other way. Mr. 45 coming down with COVID could be seen as a validation to Mr. Biden's views on COVID... but then he also has no concrete planets to deal with our major issues, so that Mr. 45 could also be a validation to those views. "The President had it and survived? Must not be that serious."
Really, what do you think? I personally don't care who wins in November, but the downplay rhetoric is a concern to me if the sheep in our country flock to him and cite him as the living proof COVID isn't that serious...

I think his insistence on an in-person debate might be because he's trying to kill Biden with infection.
And yeah, this is why I tried not to get my hopes up.
