Grading in general seems to fall into the problematic nature of standardization, though opposition to standardization is much more broad than opposition to grading.

That too, but even setting aside that it ignores how differently people Can learn, it just isn’t serving the purposes it purports to, and runs counter to most of them.
All grading really manages is to look good to a bureaucrat who doesn’t know anything.

I honestly wouldn't doubt it. Still though, there's like either room for either improvement or reformatting the system. You get a lot of stagnancy on the former obviously and the latter is severely underdeveloped in practice.

I guess more specifically, like that more intuitive based math system. Crudely speaking, I heard it's pretty much a tossup as far as implementing it into your system, or also it's mostly up to the teacher that can make the most of the system they run with (like chiropractors and physical therapists).

Really? I know why people HAVE to study hard for payment and better understanding but you simply cannot have flaws in a system that allows forced assignments that have next to no place for your job. How can you do electronics when your working as a barber?

Homework is useful, if and only if the student does already have enough knowledge and understanding of the material at hand. I think it's easy to agree on the fact, that repeating a task is synonymous with getting better at the task and understanding where you still might have weakpoints, but if the teaching failed in the first place, then... yeah...

The other issue is work-overload. I still remember times when coming home and having to sit down for an additional 3 or 4 hours for a couple of days, to read a book that I have no interest in, just to write up a summary of it. And then still having to do maths and other things, despite being at school from 7 to 15 on average, daily. Yeah, there comes a point when not even the threat of getting a bad mark for not having done your homework gets you to keep up with that bullshit.

I wanted to reply with a flippant point about 'did you go to my school too?'. But then considered the further point. How much is retained? I mean much of my math was learn this, do X homework, take test. Never to see that material again. And then there is methodology. I understand a recent 'new math' was something about counting sticks. Versus my I guess old math of long form. You must perform math in the manner set forth at this time. They don't care if you consistently come up with the correct answer using another method. The point is to use and do as you are told.

I'm certain that if you dig deep enough, you'll find a conspirative cabal of the high finance and industrial tycoons laughing in their secret lair inside the hollow flat Earth, where they pull their faces off and reveal themselve to be reptiles who secretly want to enslave humanity via their diabolical plan of having children do homework.

Ack, please don't release this one. I actually work with someone that believes in the reptile conspiracy.
