Yeah I think JFK and Lincoln would have something to say about him being the worst-treated president in history.

Re: The great 2020 election thread....
I thought the biggest problem with it was the lefty running the debate as all of the talking points were things that mostly only lefties care enough to vote on such as wind turbines (which PS, Trump was right about: they do grind into mincemeat somewhere around 570,000 birds a year according to the NYT) and letting more immigrants in. The things that will get Trump elected such as the 2nd amendment, tax hikes, China, the loss of manufacturing jobs, were conspicuously absent. You mark my words: he would have cemented his base and won over people by - as Bridge above mentioned - trying his best to act civil this time.Makeshift Python wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 8:20 pmAre you fucking kidding me? 90% of the debate was him whining about how the media was unfair to him and how he's the worst treated president in the history of the united states.clearspira wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 12:35 pm A lot of people won't like me saying this, but I thought Trump did very well in the debate. He seemed more presidential than I have seen him.
That's not acting presidential, that's crying like a little bitch.
He may lose, but it won't be by a landslide I am sure of that.
And the media is unfair to him. Not always, he often deserves it, but they have never exactly been pro-Trump in the same way that they've been pro-Hillary or pro-Obama, come on now.
Re: The great 2020 election thread....
Eh, it depends on what a landslide is defined as. Is it winning a supermajority of electoral votes (because the popular vote doesn't matter?) or is it winning the popular vote by double digits? Either remain within the realm of possibility.clearspira wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 9:31 pm He may lose, but it won't be by a landslide I am sure of that.

Re: The great 2020 election thread....
I just want this fucking nightmare over.
I've never liked Joe Biden and I thought he'd make a rotten President but he actually understands the business of government. The constant refrain of "Trump is not a politician!" has just shown that 45 doesn't know how to fucking do the job and didn't bother to learn in 4 years. Pence has been running the government's day to day and I loathe him too.
I'm tired of hearing about the constant attempts to suppress votes, destroy the fucking post office [which we need], and ludicrous conspiracy theories. I hate the nepotism, the constant lying, the fears about defunded medicaid, the arguing with children, the attempts to buy Greenland, and other bizarre behavior.
I'm not even bringing the lack of a plan because of a desire to pretend a plague doesn't exist.
I am just...tired of 45.

You can fix the problem with windmills chopping up birds by painting one of the turbines black.clearspira wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 9:31 pmI thought the biggest problem with it was the lefty running the debate as all of the talking points were things that mostly only lefties care enough to vote on such as wind turbines (which PS, Trump was right about: they do grind into mincemeat somewhere around 570,000 birds a year according to the NYT) and letting more immigrants in. Also, it turns out fossil fuels kill more birds anyway.
Regardless, Trump has done nothing to bring back jobs and the only thing he's done good is give a lot of money to bail out farmers (which I support). His handling of workers rights can be defined by tax breaks for the megarich who give none of it to their employees and continue to work in China, paying the tariffs and letting it eat just a little of their tax break. Coal continues to die (I know, I'm in Kentucky) and is like 4 companies left as well as tiny businesses that are part of much larger energy conglomerates.
China also continues to be a hellhole for religious and political minorities as Trump continues to do business with them as well.

I know what you mean, but jesus we are getting back to square 1 of the reality. You can't just beat people over the heads with articulated progressive ideals and just expect the government to reformat itself like an operating system. It's a game of establishments and grueling dual partisans that make progress together in the form of hand squeezing olives.CharlesPhipps wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 8:54 am I just want this fucking nightmare over.

The Republican party is specifically good at circusing the whole thing, and there's really only so many avenues you can take with conscious directives over conservative ones.
