So yeah, our dipshit mayor got angry about people protesting just because the police showed up to kill a mentally ill black guy when his parents called an ambulence. So he put out a "curfew" to shut down free speech.
Makes me wish I had some plans this evening just so I could flaunt it. Gods I'm tired. I skipped out on a protest (unrelated protest) this monday.

Protests are not the issue. Those who corrupt protests by causing property damage and physical injury are the problem. Fact is that not everyone is interested in your cause, some people just want to open their shop without fear that it'll be firebombed tonight.
You want someone to blame, blame those who cannot protest without being a twat.

Yeah, there's no justification for lashing out and causing so much destruction to people and property at this stage in the game past being selfish brats who want to vent against those who had never hurt them, which is disgusting. History is filled with those examples. They need to find healthy outlets. Any excuses given are entirely hollow because Mr. 45 is not Hitler and the comparison is disingenuous fearmongering. For people who want to beat Mr. 45, this could easily give him Pennsylvania again. I've said this over and over. This is sabotaging their own cause.clearspira wrote: ↑Thu Oct 29, 2020 12:38 pm Protests are not the issue. Those who corrupt protests by causing property damage and physical injury are the problem. I've seen many DNC sympathizers who write op-eds trying to stop this behavior, to no avail. And that is not due to right-wing militia groups or leftist arsonists, whatever term you wanna use. It is that we need inspiration, hope. Charismatic leaders. Human beings want leaders with great drive and energy, and Mr. Biden is not such a figure. There's been a huge power vacuum left since the Obama-Clinton coalition has splintered, and it's left the left and democrats rudderless. Mr. 45, however much of a deplorable figure he is, still has a lot of aggression and drive that makes him seem younger than he is, hence the silent Trump voter effect. I think Nov 3 is gonna be an electoral bloodbath for dems, but we'll see.

No, it's protests. If the issue was property damage and violence, they could just arrest people for property damage and violence. The reason to declare a curfew is because you can't arrest people for protesting, but if they happen to be out protesting when there's a curfew, you can charge them with violating the curfew.clearspira wrote: ↑Thu Oct 29, 2020 12:38 pm Protests are not the issue. As for Captain Crimson, again, because of what you've said I no longer take you seriously.

Re: Mayor of Philadelphia does another curfew
Update: I ended up not going to an unrelated protest today because my mom asked me not to, because of the police violence. They've busted open an SUV, yanked out a black woman's toddler, and then handcuffed and arrested her without charge or explanation.
This is what "curfew" means.
