The great 2020 election thread....

Four million, to be exact. One million more that Hillary got. But Trump is also the second most voted candidate in US history, even beating Barrack Obama

Now that the election is out of the way, it's important to try to make sure something like this never happens again. The best thing Biden can do is try to get through this awkward transition in American politics. Since he's not black, he probably won't be as divisive as Obama.

Basically what I am saying America is that if you do not want to go through this again, fix your shit by the time Trump has a crack at 2024.
Trump is likely going to be either dead or in jail come 2024.

It's probably going to be north of 6 million, possibly even 7 million when the counting done in California.

Not quite over yet.

Trump will still mount his legal challenges, and while unlikely it might go all the way to the Supreme Court.

He still has time to write off a bunch of executive orders and pardons etc, and possibly leave the country and leave everything to Pence.

Republicans will be conciliatory at first, but they'll fight Biden and Harris soon enough and not much will get done.

Then if Harris becomes the President things will get more heated, and not just because she's a woman of colour (though I'm sure it will come up, both to attack her and defend her) but also because she'll look like an opportunist who lacks a strong base.

Of course, if the SC DOES find for Trump, then the real sh*tshow begins.

Dead? Maybe. Jail? No.

Why? Because like Epstein, Trump almost certainly has a lot of dirt on a lot of people. As I have said before I am not one for conspiracy theories as I am a big believer in the notion that you should never assume malice when stupidity will do. I'm just saying that of all conspiracy theories I have heard recently, Epstein getting assassinated before he takes the establishment down with him is one of the more believable.

And even putting that aside, the man is stinking rich. He can afford the sorts of lawyers that can tie a court up in red tape for a long, long time.

100 pages.

A testament to how long, tiring and f*cking exhausting American elections are.

Campaigning for 2022 and 2024 have no doubt already begun.

Look, I know there's a lot of work ahead still, and we don't even know if we can get 45 out of the white house without a crow bar, but...I'm gonna take some time to just enjoy this. Celebrate. Be obnoxious. Rub it in the face of every conservative you know, because they would never show dignity or restraint if the positions were reversed, and unlike us in 2016 they won't be flocking to the suicide hotlines.

I've popped one bottle of champagne. I'm saving the next two for him actually leaving.
