Re: Louisville Police hide 700k reports of them molesting children
It's only anecdotal evidence, but just thinking of my own life, I had a friend in community college who was almost raped. I attended the WomenSpeak group in my four-year college where multiple rape survivors got together to speak about their experiences. I had a nonbinary roommate who was sexually assaulted twice. I had an online friend who I met in person a couple of times who was raped as a child and has severe trauma as a result of it, including DID. One of my exes was raped by a football player. Somebody I thought was a friend called me late at night asking for bail money, because he'd been arrested for trading child porn. When I asked him if he'd done it, he said a friend "emotionally blackmailed" him into it.
Oh, and me personally? A roommate of mine tried to buy sexual services from me. Our third roommate said they weren't going to make any excuses for him, then proceeded to make excuses for him. He didn't get kicked out until a new roommate moved in to replace the old leaseholder.
Sexual violence is as common as bad fast food. If you want to learn more, go to Rainn.org.
And this police stuff? It's not Pizzagate. It's not some list of vague accusations from people who never saw anything or talked to any victims. And in real life, rapists and child molesters aren't shadowy elite members of a demon-worshipping cult. They are people who go to the same church as you, shop at the same stores at you, and sometimes work at your local police station.

He's saying that nowadays we have stretched the definition of sexual assault and harassment to such an extent that pretty much every man on Earth is now capable of committing a sex crime and thus the figures have been artificially inflated. And to an extent I agree, I think we are swiftly approaching the day whereby even chatting a woman up in a bar will become harassment. Which will be funny as come that day the Earth's population will fall by 3 billion as it'll be illegal for a man to ask a woman out but no woman I have ever met will take the role of ''asker'' unless he is a very prized pick indeed.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Sun Nov 22, 2020 3:40 amOk well what's your take on that beef cake of text then?clearspira wrote: ↑Sun Nov 22, 2020 12:01 amMakeshift Python calls someone an assclown.

Uh-huh.
However i also agree with Fuzzy. There is a glut of things that happen that you could never, ever prove because its your word against theirs with no witnesses. And I know this because it has happened to me. I once had a drunken woman grab me rather painfully by the dick in a bar to ''see if she made me hard''. Big laughs were had by everyone but me. Did I say shit? No. Because no one takes female-on-male sexual assault victims seriously and I had no proof. Men have not yet had their MeToo even though - ironically - Kevin Spacey doing to men what Weinstein was doing to women was actually a part of it and yet the world just continued acting as though it was a woman-only event and left it at that.

Clearspira, I'm so sorry that happened to you. It was horrible and it deserves to be taken seriously.

It’s sarcasm. Just to illustrate how disinterested I was in having a genuine dialogue with him, because that is how little I think of his contributions to this forum. Even if he replied with a single sentence I would have given the same response just to show how futile his attempt to strike a discussion with me was.clearspira wrote: ↑Sun Nov 22, 2020 12:01 amMakeshift Python calls someone an assclown.

Like, even if you think our PC culture has gone too far, this isn't He-said-she-said. This is 70,000 reports of adult police officers molesting children, which were filed, and which said police department was conspiring to hush up and conceal.

I am quite sorry that happened to you, my friend. It was wrong, period. Nuff said. Just like the OP's article about these kids. As I'd said, that's wrong too. Ideally, we'd like a quick response. And we should have that, in a perfect world. I don't get why we can't.clearspira wrote: ↑Sun Nov 22, 2020 11:13 amHe's saying that nowadays we have stretched the definition of sexual assault and harassment to such an extent that pretty much every man on Earth is now capable of committing a sex crime and thus the figures have been artificially inflated. My intent was also to illustrate my skepticism towards some of the statistics, since as we've seen in recent years, the methodology is breaking down, it needs reform like everything else in our society, and with polarization, everyone has an agenda. I mean, do you really buy we have tens of millions of silent trauma victims in the US? I know we have flaws, but that is not the case outside an active war zone, as I've said before. And people are generally selfish, careless, and stupid, but I think they mean better than that.
Example. People I know personally don't think COVID is even real, yet they still are not keen to test it. I think that's a good way to approach. Hold healthy skepticism, but don't risk your life and others.

You keep bringing this up as a concrete detail, but it's not very persuasive in itself. It's just a figure, possibly exaggerated(?) and possibly propaganda. And again, who is saying this? It's not a household agenda as far as I can tell and I've only heard it from you.Captain Crimson wrote: ↑Sun Nov 22, 2020 5:54 pm I mean, do you really buy we have tens of millions of silent trauma victims in the US?
You bring it up though as if that figure alone is supposed to make the whole world overly skeptical of science based policy consideration. It's not a very compelling case. In reality, an exaggerated estimate is pretty anecdotal.

The statistic about one in five women. I just can't buy that. I can't recall where it came from.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Sun Nov 22, 2020 7:48 pmYou keep bringing this up as a concrete detail, but it's not very persuasive in itself. One in ten may be more realistic. But if we can't trust the election polls, how can we trust those statistics? I mean, really.
It's less distrust in science and more a distrust in the statistics published by institutions. If they followed the more scientific approach, this wouldn't happen.
