I don't get what that means, regardless, it's still wrong to wish death on anyone.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Mon Nov 30, 2020 2:15 am I'll say it again. Wish in one hand, shit in the other, see which fills up first.

also, you and those like you keep saying that there are systemic problems in not just organizations like the police but society in general and that everyone who is part of that system contributes do it even if they don't want to. so, why couldn't I lump all people on the left together?

Look, I understand the mindset. That you'd prefer justice, life in jail or execution by our peers if warranted, as to actual wishing someone dead, yes? And even in those cases, it is a grim necessity.Dragon Ball Fan wrote: ↑Mon Nov 30, 2020 8:37 amI don't get what that means, regardless, it's still wrong to wish death on anyone.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Mon Nov 30, 2020 2:15 am I'll say it again. However, that's way too simplistically idealistic for the world we live in. Frankly, it's the way most people think, but it's just not how life is, at all. It's just basic b**** s***, as my friend would say.
I think your idealism can be better suited in other ways, TBH. Than trying stubbornly to argue with a rock. As this thread more and more looks to resemble the epic duel between Ash and Samurai with twin Metapods!

I'm not sure he's reading into it that far. He's saying it's just simply wrong to think those things of anyone under any circumstance by word of God.Captain Crimson wrote: ↑Mon Nov 30, 2020 2:49 pmLook, I understand the mindset. It means that no amount of wishing will make it so.Dragon Ball Fan wrote: ↑Mon Nov 30, 2020 8:37 amI don't get what that means, regardless, it's still wrong to wish death on anyone.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Mon Nov 30, 2020 2:15 am I'll say it again. It's not wrong to wish death on anyone. Sometimes it's the only sensible approach. But for all of that, there is a moral distinction between wishing death on somebody and actually trying to kill them. If I had 45 lying in front of me, completely paralyzed, with a knife in my hand, and the knowledge that I could dispose of the body and never ever be caught, would I do it? I honestly don't know. I know I wish horrible death on him now, and that if I hear he chokes on a pretzel or dies from covid complications or gets eaten alive by driver ants I will sing and dance with joy. But there is a mile of difference between the desire and the deed.
With apologies for quoting a TERF, Rowling was right in book 6. Murder is not nearly as easy as the innocent suppose.

But as Chuck said, you don't become a good guy just because you oppose the bad guy. There are some good actions you can go out of your way to do but in terms of actions, being good is more about what you DON'T do.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Tue Dec 01, 2020 5:01 amIt means that no amount of wishing will make it so.Dragon Ball Fan wrote: ↑Mon Nov 30, 2020 8:37 amI don't get what that means, regardless, it's still wrong to wish death on anyone.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Mon Nov 30, 2020 2:15 am I'll say it again. Individually, but you still have to account for collective implications.Dragon Ball Fan wrote: ↑Tue Dec 01, 2020 5:06 pmBut as Chuck said, you don't become a good guy just because you oppose the bad guy. The man clearly learned nothing from his brush with death. He actively spread the plague while he was infected with it, through sheer selfishness, and is still making it harder for people to slow, much less prevent, its spread. The people of this country would be safer if he had died from it.
Even good guys are allowed to have little a shadenfrued, as a treat.

the same thing would be accomplished if he was in prison.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Tue Dec 01, 2020 7:24 pm The man clearly learned nothing from his brush with death. and the only time I can see a good guy getting satasfaction at someone else's suffering is something like Future Trunks from Dragon Ball Z making Future Android 17 and 18 feel helpless and afraid before killing them when returning to his post-apocalyptic alternate future.
