He needs to keep complaining about it so he can maintain "actually BOTH parties are JUST as bad!" even though only one of them threatened his mom's healthcare.

Yeah I know, and I think it's more just an admonishment of Democrats only (as like something that just exists, much less the other political party). But I'm trying not to cherry pick.

The Reade story was so non-credible that not even Fox was willing to cover it and when further investigation was done into it not only did the story not line up, but it turned out that Ms. Reade had made similar accusations about multiple different people, none of which stood up to scrutiny, but it actual turned out that she had lied about her credentials to falsely serve as an expert witness in over 20 cases.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 4:06 pm Is this really an ongoing issue? It's something I've seen no one talk about and can't find any indication of, and on the other hand Captain makes it out to be a scandal of sorts.
I know that him being Trump's opponent would have influence on his current affairs spotlight, but for nobody to be talking about it since its officiated proceedings ceased?
So we have a story which was not seen as credible by more sources and when investigated was found to not be credible and the person in question was someone that had proven willing to commit perjury.

Yeah, sure, whatever. Believe whatever you want to. The larger criticism has always been that the DNC sold their souls to beat Mr. 45 this year, and then get upset when after putting so much focus onto one race, they don't gain additional seats elsewhere. There was never going to be a blue wave. The sheer, rank hypocrisy is just astonishing. Democrats put up a candidate they don't even like. Does that hold in 2021? Do they just write off his gaffes when opponents bring that up? Do we keep giving him a pass out of hate and fear at the GOP? I feel the MSM would be all too willing.
And I'm convinced after the power goes to his head, as per human nature, he's going to try to run again in 2024. And he's too old. I will freely admit, now Mr. 45 is gone, I WANT to see him lose very badly. Not croak or resign. Look to the many users here, Fuzzy Necromancer and CharlesPhipps, who also dislike Mr. Biden. He should step aside or he needs to lose by 2024. Yet is that even possible? Lord knows the man is as inspiring as blue paint, and moderates generally don't win elections unless they have charisma, but... the system is just uneven, I could see his victory yet again in 2024.
This is why voting to me is pointless. We have no say, no power, and we never did. But then my bias is also as a glass-ceiling feminist dreamer. I really feel disappointed that first woman president is going to be unelected, that she comes riding in off the older white sexist's coattails. Come on. We can do a lot better than this. We could do this even when the opponent is Mr. Trump. It's not impossible. And no one wants to do better. I've said it before. There's no dreamers left. Daydreaming seems like an outdated practice in the world of hyper-speed phones and internet. Shut up, do what you're told, become another drone, and don't hope for something better. It's everywhere in the entertainment sphere as well. Shut up and consume. Be grateful we're doing this. This is why we don't have nice things.

You know for someone that claims to be apolitical you sure do love making false equivalences and parroting right wing conspiracy theories.
I mean the DNC sold their soul by doing what? Letting the broadly popular center of the road candidate that handily won the primary be their candidate?

There are dreamers left. I grew up hoping that this picture would become real one day. Not the actual show obviously, but what it stands for. White, black, alien, former enemies, all standing side by side united to better ourselves. What amuses me is that we are now 50 years closer to the 23rd century and things do not seem to have gotten better. And I get what Chuck noted in his Superman The Elite review about how many things HAVE indeed improved - and yet why does it never feel that way?Captain Crimson wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 1:57 am Yeah, sure, whatever. Out of interest Captain, do you think Biden would have been a better choice for president over Biden? Not being American I don't know much about him.

You complain about diversity initiatives left and right. They aren't structural criticisms, they're full on deteste for any progressive initiative making its way into all the fandom properties which came out before you were a teenager.clearspira wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 4:12 pmThere are dreamers left. The other stuff said felt very on-point. We have a lot more going for us in our society, yet it feels like we're taking a dozen steps backward at lightning speed and the overall sentiment is hardly optimistic.
It's why I laugh at Mr. Biden's empty political talk. He can't unite us. He can't heal us. Mr. Obama at his prime couldn't do that, and he was younger and charismatic.
