There's a not without basis argument that Max Lord is, in-universe, attempting to look like Trump as part of an attempt to look the part of a successful businessman in the Eighties.

I didn't notice this until afterwards, but uh...why the body-possession thing with Steve? Did that have a purpose beyond making them question the nature and permanency of his return? My assumption was that some random guy wished to become the kind of man that Diana Prince would love, as the stone clearly can create living beings out of thin air so it shouldn't need to do that. It does create some...rather horrific implications that I'd rather not ponder, as well.

I hated the first one.
I considered it one of the worst movies I have seen this decade.
Everytime I tried to write blog on why I hated it I just started going scene by scene and I felt like a crazy person.
I am not going to watch "84" because, from what I read of the reviews, it takes everything I disliked about the first one and turns the dial enough so that everyone else is now noticing them too.

No it's actually the opposite of the first movie in every conceivable way.

I mean, they were clearly on a date in the first act, and her getting a new love instead of just pining over Steve. Embrace the world around her instead of living for the past.
You have a good point. It seems to me that Diana - raised on an island populated solely by women - would be at minimum bisexual. Not to mention the fact that if her culture is basically a gender swapped version of Athens then she should love herself a bit of same-sex fun.

I mean yeah, I started shipping them as soon as Barbara showed up, but I think it would have paid off well thematically.

Why did you like it better?
