I had a chuckle to myself just now - he's still going. Still denying that he lost. Still fighting it. He's like one of those Japanese soldiers after WW2 who never got their surrender orders and just kept on going long after anyone else cares.
The rumour reaches me that he is going to start up his own media network. Don't know how true that is, but it wouldn't surprise me. Keep 'em riled and keep 'em keen for 2024.

He's still going on, because people still pay him money for his temper-tantrums. The guy was able to pay back a sizeable load of debts, thanks to the muppets who donated money to his election-train and as long as there is profits to be made from this no-effort riding-the-donkey-till-it's-dead-thing he's got going there, he will continue doing so. And you know what? I like that. He bleeds the idiots dry.

In one term Trump has taken the GOP from having the presidency, the house, and the Senate to losing all three.

are we done yet? This election has basically been going on for all of 2020, and that lasted at least 6 years

I'm curious - if it comes to light that the Democratic Party did in fact commit election fraud, with or without foreign interference, what would the reaction from people here be?

You have a strange system in the US. In most other countries when you win, you're in the next day.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Wed Jan 06, 2021 9:37 am are we done yet? This election has basically been going on for all of 2020, and that lasted at least 6 years

Complete denial. Trump haters ran the "Trump cheated" bandwagon for years. Bit embarrassing the other way round innit.
Re: The great 2020 election thread....
It reminds me very much of "1984." Though, to be fair, both parties have a history of taking on the same role the other had when their positions in power are reversed.

Figured I'd pop by while I wait for my sleeping pills to kick in.
I'm rather indifferent to the outcome, yet I want to say that I feel like the DNC's victory is unearned. They didn't run inspiring candidates or put in the hard leg work they have in the past. Mr. Biden's grassroots "movement," or lack thereof, and digital presence was a joke. In short, people helped the DNC win in spite of, not because of themselves. And I really don't like this myth that Mr. Biden has a mandate. He has no mandate. He didn't work hard to win. He's the ultimate avatar to the talking point of old white male privilege nominated by those who claim to hate that. What irony.
Does anyone expect this guy to make it to 2024? Either he dies, is forced out due to worsening mental conditions, or his "coalition" implodes by 2024. I don't what spin the MSM has, 2020 was a warning for democrats they are gleefully ignoring, thinking that beating Mr. Trump is enough. And we all know it isn't. There will be no 2024 pandemic to help them again. Nothing will get done under Mr. Biden, and he's this generation's Mr. H.W. Bush. And we know what happened to him.

I've noticed. It certainly gives the outgoing incumbent a lot of opportunities to throw spanners into the various works if they have enough spite and malice.clearspira wrote: ↑Wed Jan 06, 2021 11:08 amYou have a strange system in the US.
