Who here watches the current series of Star Wars Rebels?
Looking for some discussion on the current events, how they relate to the so called "Star Wars Legends" books, and some thoughts on how the show might move on from here.
I'm liking Thrawn. He is certainly different to his other portrayals, and has come face-to-face with the rebels (which I think was a mistake). I'm hoping that the end of the series has him pull a major win, because otherwise he might end up feeling like a wasted character.

Some episodes are ok but it's a kid's show.

Re: Star Wars: Rebels
I've seen some of it, it's enjoyable but I didn't like bringning Maul back.
What I noted form the Pilot was how the main cast was kinda modeled after the Three Musketeers.

I am enjoying the show, but I feel that it runs into the trap of having the Empire be too incompetent at times, which makes it seem that the Rebels aren't really in danger. I'm still waiting to see Thrawn do something beyond 'Sit on his hands' while the Rebels achieve victory after victory. It makes him seem like a bit of a paper tiger.
Re: Star Wars: Rebels
Though I'm not a fan of Thrawn having a slight character model overhaul and for some reason, deciding to practice fighting with Dark Troopers. I have to admit I think they nail the voice actor and performance perfectly.
Compare to Thrawn in TIE Fighter.

Re: Star Wars: Rebels
It's a good show with character development but it needs to let go of the "I'm one of the last Jedi/Padawan!" trope so that is a major critical statement. Other than that the show hold a lot of heart for being a non-canon spin-off to Clone Wars and SW:IV material, Chuck should review the show when his kid heals up.

Star Wars Rebels is among my favorite SW cartoons alongside with Clone Wars and Clone Wars mini series. It's mostly because I find characters (including entire main cast) to be likeable. Of course having Thrawn, Rukh and TIE Defender made canon does also help as does adult Ashoka being really awesome and Mandalorians having part to play even if just because one of main cast is one of them.

Of course, anything involving the new canon I'm boycotting simply on principle.

It's not like it's a Gundam sized sample size...Mecha82 wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 12:49 am Star Wars Rebels is among my favorite SW cartoons alongside with Clone Wars and Clone Wars mini series.
