Gina Carano fired

This is for topical issues effecting our fair world... you can quit snickering anytime. Note: It is the desire of the leadership of SFDebris Conglomerate that all posters maintain a civil and polite bearing in this forum, regardless of how you feel about any particular issue. Violators will be turned over to Captain Janeway for experimentation.

The false equivalency of (and I'll paraphrase), "I am being oppressed for my political views, just like the jews were persecuted in Nazi Germany" is hateful nonsense.

She says snide and abusive bullshit and when she is called out for it, she plays the victim.
That is bad behavior and since she did not reign it in, she got fired.
Excessive hyperbole and going on about being persecuted - where have I heard that before? Do you believe she was really treating that as literal, or that it was just (somewhat tasteless) hyperbole, of the sort everyone does ("but it doesn't count when we do it!") Do you understand exaggeration for the purposes of effect, or to at least pick clear illustrations even if they lose a lot of accuracy? Because that's how people talk and argue all the time.

The level of hypocricy from the supposedly more "tolerant" side is breathtaking. They're incapable of dealing with anything that isn't 100% in alignment with their mindset as not being 100% the opposite. There's just as much underlying prejudice and bigotry amongst them as those they condemn, even if it's underpinned by a less obnoxious foundation. Slight difference of opinion right through to the opposite extreme all get treated the same, with no ability to differentiate.

No doubt the usual can-only-see-in-black-and-white-extremes types will use this to conclude that I must therefore be a rabid extreme right-winger, which would rather prove my point.

This is why I avoid Twitter. It's quite evident this is someone who's just as bruised by the divisions in society as any righty, and yet is spending so much time on social media with thin skin loudly at the pulpit, blasting for all to hear, and IMO, hoping someone comes looking for her so she can vent off on them. It's what polarization does. It's what makes it so tragic. I don't see her as a failed monster or literally evil, as I've seen some anti-SJWs claim. Society is just fractured so badly, it's too much hate. Mr. Trump can attest to that, shooting out incendiary tweets every hour.

We all need thicker skin, and what I notice is many leftist SJWs don't have that. It's what makes it hard to challenge the right, which is what they want.

In my first post I brought up how Chris Pratt was not fired.
Are you trying to ignore the nuance I am acknowledging?

I don't think Ms. Carano should be fired, nor should Ms. Ireland. But at the same time, what Ms. Ireland is saying is far, far worse. It's literally outright indefensible bigotry. I don't get how you can't see that, blasting about white mediocrity and so forth.

I'm curious to what Madner Kami's thoughts are about this. That user is German, and I do have a few other German friends in the Discord circles I follow. Madner Kami has also always insisted that Mr. Trump is the symptom, not the cause, yet they can't let him go. Watch, after he slithers away from the second impeachment with his hide intact, they're gonna keep pushing the outrage machine for another four years, treating his 2016 upset as a fluke.

They've learned nothing.

I didn't know who this was till following your first link, so it is great that you are equivocating two wildly different levels of celebrity... which is only the first of many things wrong with this comparison.

I will say this, I will never watch a video where the thumbnail has the target being criticized with glowing red eyes. I mentioned shitty youtube monetizing outrage about Star Wars and you unironically link to shitty youtube people who monetize outrage about Star Wars.

I don't know how to explain to you, that people shitty to trans people (go ahead and downplay it, but that is what she did) and then playing the victim (by again, comparing herself to Jews under Nazi rule... don't know if you know this, but Trans people were also abused by the Nazis) is not the same as an obscure black genre writer talking about how her industry is racist and misogynistic.

I read every framed tweet in that first link. That is not "Hating White People" that is hating racism.

This is your big, "Oh yeah!? What about...!?" that you are using to contrast with Gina's firing?
Do you have any idea how myopic and foolish this is?

Lastly, stop contextualizing everything in terms of some nebulos "Left" that is coming to take you or conservatives or whatever down and out. It is weird in general, and comes off really fucked up in the context of talking about a shitty person being fired off a TV show.

Stop doing that. It is nonsense and it makes you sound like a conspiracy theorist.

Ok, just so I can understand this, was she fired from Lucasfilm for invoking Godwin's Law in a social media post? I mean comparing what the right wing face now explicitly with the holocaust, or the actual mass extermination is ridiculous but I don't think it makes her some intolerable bigot though. Oh wait, was she that actress that talked bad about pronouns or something last year?

That's the thing. The anti-SJWs shouldn't be martyring her, but at the same time, the SJWs themselves are treating her like Hitler 2.0 This s*** is why we can't have nice things.

And I love how the other user just refused to watch the video. When one of these authors literally said, "I'm sorry, but men suck!" Like, imagine if that was some white guy saying, "I'm sorry, but women suck?" Can you imagine the reaction? He'd be fired before the end of the day.

I don't know who you are talking to about Hitler 2.0.
Again, you are projecting this out in weird, nonsensical directions.
It is not enough for you to say, "She shouldn't have been fired because..." or "She should have been fired because..." or even, "That is too bad, I liked her character"... instead you have to talk about some vast groups of SJWs and Anti-SJWs having some argument.
Have a thought or opinion that doesn't tie into some grander narrative.

If someone said something else, people would react differently. Yeah. That is how that works.
I am not engaging with the content you posted, because it is junk.
And the equivalence you keep drawing between these two situations is silly.

It is outrage culture. Idiots barking about stuff to get clicks, and because it is tied into Star Wars people click on it.

Also, "The Other User"?
You make sure to put Mr. or Ms. all the time, but you don't want to quote me or reference my user handle?

So you support firing a guy who said "women suck," but not a woman who says "men suck?"
