Excessive hyperbole and going on about being persecuted - where have I heard that before? Do you believe she was really treating that as literal, or that it was just (somewhat tasteless) hyperbole, of the sort everyone does ("but it doesn't count when we do it!") Do you understand exaggeration for the purposes of effect, or to at least pick clear illustrations even if they lose a lot of accuracy? Because that's how people talk and argue all the time.Rocketboy1313 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 11, 2021 8:57 pmThe false equivalency of (and I'll paraphrase), "I am being oppressed for my political views, just like the jews were persecuted in Nazi Germany" is hateful nonsense.Captain Crimson wrote: ↑Thu Feb 11, 2021 8:15 pm She wasn't spewing venom and outright bigotry. She just has a view you disagree with.
She says snide and abusive bullshit and when she is called out for it, she plays the victim.
That is bad behavior and since she did not reign it in, she got fired.
The level of hypocricy from the supposedly more "tolerant" side is breathtaking. They're incapable of dealing with anything that isn't 100% in alignment with their mindset as not being 100% the opposite. There's just as much underlying prejudice and bigotry amongst them as those they condemn, even if it's underpinned by a less obnoxious foundation. Slight difference of opinion right through to the opposite extreme all get treated the same, with no ability to differentiate.
No doubt the usual can-only-see-in-black-and-white-extremes types will use this to conclude that I must therefore be a rabid extreme right-winger, which would rather prove my point.
