I don't consider it abhorrent. At worst, it's a failed allegory. Because she's not the only one who's made comparisons to 1930s Germany, and no one likes it except the opportunists, and yet she gets fired while others who say far worse are still allowed to work there. If Lucasfilm or Disney wants to can her, that is their choice, but at the same time, they've totally earned the criticism and backlash.
These new writers are just outright bigots. And it's not even an issue of white privilege, when that's a systematic issue and not really the fault of lower-class peers. This is nonstop trashing of white people on Twitter, in particular white men, to the point it becomes grating, which is ironic when you remember how many of these blue checkmarks work alongside white men. Mr. Martin, Mr. Scott - even Mr. Wendig from a few years ago. Disney claims to stand against racism, and yet not when it's racism against white men, it appears. It's just exasperating.
This is just proof about what the critics have said all along. They wanted her gone since she doesn't march in lockstep with their political viewpoint. And the silent voter phenomenon with conservatives is only getting worse. That's not outright persecution like it was in Germany, but it is effectively turning huge chunks of people against them, the way the media wants. Give them an enemy so they can further distract us from them carving this country up a little finer amongst themselves. If you can't see the parallels and realize we're on a very dark road thanks to that and we need thicker skin as a society, then nothing will help you.
And I don't even like Cara Dune. I think Ms. Carano isn't a good actor. But I'm going to give real thoughts here. They could have played it smart, said it was a business dispute, or even cited her acting as subpar, which most would agree with. They wanted you to KNOW she was purged for her political views, which aren't even that offensive compared to many other LF employees. That's a very bad idea to try to appeal to the woke crowd this way. I've never seen Ms. Carano mock LGBT as online myths claim, past a court case that was thrown out, or put down other people for their race or gender. This is just outright lies. And it's discouraging to see the way society is headed.

This just in. Ms. Carano will be working with Mr. Shapiro to make a movie. I have no intention of seeing it, not necessarily because I'm against her or him, or am left-wing or anything like that, so much as I've always felt her acting was subpar. But this really does highlight the truth of diversity, that if her words are "insulting" to Jews (remember it was many other undesirable groups rounded up by the Nazis, even other "Aryans" as enemies of the state), then this Jew who actually criticized her is working with her.
Re: Gina Carano fired
What is clear is that Gina liked to post stupid and potentially offensive stuff as well as misinformation about the pandemic, which was potentially dangerous. People called her out on her bullshit. Disney told her to stop. She refused to stop. She doubled down with a clumsy holocaust meme. Now she is out of a job.
Let's not treat her like an innocent victim or martyr, she was simply a moron who believed being an anti-masker was a political belief and Disney obviously tried to protect her giving her warnings and being a cold blooded business like Disney, "3 strikes and you're out".

Re: Gina Carano fired
Offensive, how? She's literally never mocked the LGBT community the way these online trolls claim. You'll never find otherwise, past refusing to put pronouns in her bio, which... isn't hateful. As for the comparison to the Holocaust, I do think it's in bad taste, but if we're gonna fire her over that, then fire Ms. Ireland and Ms. Arielle as well. Ms. Ireland is just despicable on her Twitter profile.
I do agree she's no innocent victim or martyr, the truth is somewhere in between, I just find it more disturbing others who say far less are allowed to work there. Because she's not the only one who's made comparisons to Nazi Germany, and we are on a dark road to a place no one wants to be, yet Mr. Pascal gets away with calling 70 million plus Americans Nazis? I wonder if they'd insist the same thing for POC who voted for Mr. Trump. Because he outperformed among minorities for the first time since 1960, and that's a warning sign that, how does the DNC respond? "We're gonna redouble our efforts on reaching minorities!" There's being disenfranchised communities, and then there's this sick obsession with race and gender they have. They've learned nothing, woke is becoming increasingly unpopular, it's why Mr. Trump got the second most votes in American history, and he only failed to nab the top number because he is Mr. Trump and no one likes him.
Case in point, I remember my dad criticizing Mr. Obama back in 2009 or what it was, saying he hadn't earned the Nobel Peace Prize, and they played the race card on him. He hadn't earned any credits to his administration, he was literally the first black president ever. I was still a kid then, and I quickly learned from how "critics" treated my dad that you can't criticize someone who's black or a woman in this country. It's PC culture gone all wrong. Not saying the lefties are the monsters here. I think it's just that in today's world, thanks to the internet, we have far thinner skins than we used to. And we need it. Like, death threats online, never okay. But how often have we seen a lot of s***-spewing from the web? Quite a lot. We don't have to accept it, but we gotta expect it, to some level. Yet people still seem surprised by it. Like. wha...

What do you mean with "we're going to fire her?" LF fired her.Captain Crimson wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 7:35 pm Offensive, how? You keep mentioning Ms. Ireland and Ms. Arielle who are they?
Re: Gina Carano fired
Comparing herself to Jews being oppressed by the Nazi regime because people calling out on her BS for one.
Her liking tweets supporting the Capitol riots which was an act of terrorism.
Pushing the whole anti-mask agenda, which is likely offensive to people who caught it or lost loved ones to the pandemic.
Is that enough for you?
