Status update, it sleeted for half the night and snowed for half the morning. Roads are not easily drivable right now. Overall, not bad really, I didn't lose power, nor did any of my family members so yeah, this storm seems overblown.

It's still weird seeing my frontyard completely covered in snow though. Like my house was teleported to Colorado or something.

We are getting 5 inches accumulation here in Arkansas. It's not coming down thick but its so cold that nothing is melting away, some of the snow outside has been there since Thursday.Beelzquill wrote: ↑Mon Feb 15, 2021 7:14 pm Status update, it sleeted for half the night and snowed for half the morning. Re: Texas Declares state of emergency.
FYI, don't try to create warmth by turning the oven on and leaving it open, or trying to improvise an indoor campfire. You can, however, keep warm with candles. The tall thick ones that Catholics like and you can find in corner stores work best.
Layers are the key to heat retention. It's all about creating insulation by trapping layers of air in there. Just don't use so much that you get sweaty.
Sorry about all the jokes.

-CBS NewsTexas Mayor Resigns after telling residents desperate for power and heat "Only the strong will survive"
What's really sad is, I'm not surprised that Tim Boyd said that. What I'm surprised by is that he resigned in response to the backlash.
