Plus the mandalorian seems to want to be force on the mandalorian culture so having a repubkic ranger around wouldn't make sense.
Plus what is the daily wire.
Gina Carano fired
Re: Gina Carano fired
The Daily Wire is a conservative "news" site that has been looking to get into entertainment as well. So far, they made a movie called "Run, Hide, Fight" which tries to make a high school shooting into Die Hard (it even has an air duct scene) as a high school senior suddenly turns into a trained commando.

So ij other words no body cares about it unless they are strong conservatives.
Re: Gina Carano fired
Eh... That's stretching it, not a lot of casual audiences in other countries even heard of her or they just know her from The Mandalorian but aren't familiar with her as they are other actresses. So calling her the most popular actress in the world is a stretch.tyrteg wrote: ↑Fri Feb 19, 2021 2:26 am Yeah. Glad to see her get some fame by starring on Mickey Mouse's "attempt to save Star Wars wreck with baby Yoda" and much respect for her standing on her principles even when the Twitter Libs go mad over her tweets. Glad to see she's already got another job... oh and yeah - Gina being the most popular actress in the world right now sure doesn't hurt. Overall couldn't be happier. I'm curious how Disney share-owners will react to the news that Kathleen Kennedy fired the most popular actress in the world. Should be another fun dumpster-fire to watch. Probably even better than Last Jedi

Like ask someone from other parts of the world like Europe, Asia or the Middle East who's the most popular actress in the world and I guarantee at least 90% aren't going to mention Gina Carano.
Because he would do anything to "own the libs" even if it contradicts his own claims like how he once hinted that women aren't tough enough to be in professions like soldiers or spies or that women can't play tough hero roles like men and yet he just hired an actress who's biggest acting role was playing tough women who can hold their own against men.
Also a fun question for the wonderful "I'm SO offended for other people's sake!" folks on this forum: Isn't it weird that after Gina's "anti-semitic" post she was hired by an orthodox Jew?
Ben Shapiro is kind of a hypocrite.

Also, I doubt this is going to hurt Disney+'s subscription rate in any significant way because the Mandalorian isn't the only thing getting them viewership.

I think it would be foolish not to say there's going to be a dip. TM isn't finished, not by a long shot, but S2 was like what you'd expect at the end of a show. Luke showed up, took Grogu with him, and that's it, the show's over.
However, don't underestimate how widely unpopular Hollywood is. Ms. Carano grew by hundreds of thousands of Twitter followers, and she's only been fired for a week. That even many SJWs and leftists here dislike them should be testament to that. It wouldn't take much to drive everyone away, look at Solo's returns, and oversaturation is still an issue, yet despite pushing so much so quickly, to give fans more SWL is just beyond them.
I mean, how many of these actual TV shows will see the light of day? Not too many, I'd wager. What this does, however, is firmly prove to all the headcanon-rationalizing fanboys led astray by clickbait YouTubers that Mr. Favreau is NOT going to retcon the ST and wants to subvert Ms. Kennedy. And since Mr. Filoni helped develop them, to see these YouTubers push this narrative is bizarre as H. If somebody truly wishes for an alternative to the DSWST where Luke never ran and hid, that's already there, it's in the SWL EU. I've said it before, if you want my thoughts on what I think for anything that isn't the overrated TT, go ahead and ask, I'll recommend some stuff. I won't say more past that, for now.
But with partisan lines increasing, do not underestimate the appeal in an alternative to Hollywood and all that they're doing. Mr. Trump not only outperformed his votes in 2016, you'd have to be blind not to see republicans ARE paying customers. All these businesses making money that have got so obsessed with diverse mainstream profits, to hit the highest bar as possible are just kidding themselves. You have to find a little niche to carve and stake that out, Mr. Lucas has said this. Otherwise, what you do has no staying power. Plus the age of the internet and the cultural appropriation of nerddom into the mainstream means it's watered down and becomes less meaningful. We see that everywhere now, where someone can go and act more informed than they really are, become a supporting consumer merely because it's the hot, shiny new thing that's trending. Once done, they move on.
Look at DS9. Look at the Stargate TV shows. Look at the old SW EU. And B5. All made for the fans. Never hit the numbers the suits wanted, as DS9, SG, and B5, were always in danger of cancellation, but they did what they were made to do, with a hardcore group of cult fans today. Everything I gather is the true nerds in the '90s were those who went online, no one else, they were still ostracized from mainstream, made into pariahs, and bullied. All those age-old stereotypes. Now all these outsiders are coming in and changing it into something that has no more recognition, since they can act like they've been there all along. Think that's a smart idea? I don't.
I was born in the wrong era.

You can read the context.
Re: Gina Carano fired
To quote Comics by Perch, having many twitter likes doesn't always automatically mean something is super popular. Again, most people outside the US don't really know who she is and Disney wants that international market.Captain Crimson wrote: ↑Sun Feb 21, 2021 5:05 am

Also you forgot WandaVision which is so popular that it caused Disney+ to crash when people tried to watch the previous episode.

For example, comics declining in sales because of online outrage is an exaggeration as those comics used as example by outrage people were already dropping and the dip wasn't huge as when people got outraged because social media doesn't have an impact on something like the comic market, positive or negative.

Also a lot of shows and movies that "real fans" hate only flop if casual audiences dislike it too like what happened with the last seasons of Doctor Who but Star Trek Discovery is doing well on streaming services and the Netflix series Fate: A Winx Sage a reboot of the Winx Club series got trashed by fans of the franchise but has been a major success on Netflix in many markets, which means all the negative response from angry fans doesn't mean a thing if casual audiences enjoy it.
