Look at this news "article." You'll get a taste of the double standards on display. The question is, why didn't this user get so upset at other LF employees who don't have pronouns in their bios? Also one thing to notes is Ms. Carano HAS tweeted out #BlackLivesMatter before, there is a literal tweet which shows this, that just gets ignored and swept under the rug.

If this person really is trans, why aren't those other LF employees equally offensive to you? I stand with what Ms. Carano said, which is those who want to put pronouns in their bios as a matter of choice, it's a great thing. But you can't force it on others. Mr. Pascal put it in his bio the moment they took to Twitter and demanded it of him. Ms. Carano doesn't, and for months they kept at it, even calling her a white supremacist.

This s*** is not okay. And the big corporations need to stop looking to social media trends as a way to snatch up that "young, diverse, liberal" crowd because our interests are fickle. But as a tool, this can easily be abused, and we're seeing that now.

I think the problem they had is they were never going to live up to the original. The original was lightning caught in a bottle. So much of it was ad libbed that would never fly in a modern movie. And the chemistry of the ensemble was spot on which you'd be hard pressed to matched.

The 2016 AU movie (which is what it is) was okay, but it was going to compared to an instant classic. And maybe that's unfair, but they decided to try to fill its shoes.
To play devil adocates are there bits that seems to happen just so it could ape the original though.

I really can't something where they went beat for beat. Introducing the proton packs and their potential danger was divided into two scenes and I think they overplayed their hand with it.

Back to the topic at hand. Midnight's Edge released a video yesterday prefaced that the Gina Carano issue won't blow over, before reviving a ten day old story. I mean, seriously. That's like saying the fire's still burning as you dump gasoline on it. It must be nice to be able to make a living stoking outrage.

As for the pronoun issue, she could've just pointed that out and said she doesn't feel the need to actively what she wants to be called as it can be implied. (And it might have gotten the others off the dime if LF said it was a requirement.) Instead, she put robot noises in it. As I said, she responses to everything by antagonizing people, and that's going to get you canned from most employment.

Another example but in the opposite direction, Rambo: Last Blood.

When the film came out, critics blasted the film while many of the anti-woke crowd including some of your typical outrage tubers championed the film as it's Audience Rating on RT is 82% and the film did make a worldwide gross of $91.4 million against a $50 budget.

However, the film has a 6.1 on IMDB with 82,989 audience ratings vs RT’s 5,000 audience ratings as most casual audiences felt the film was average at best many hardcore Rambo fans think it felt more like a generic action film in the mold of TAKEN than a Rambo film (even Rambo's creator Dave Morrel thought so and he was positive of the 4 previous films), some even considering it their least favorite Rambo film. While it didn't flop, judging by the box office data the film didn't really hold stable in the weekly grosses.

Should have stopped at Rambo (4), which felt like a proper finale.

Have you seen some of the tweets she was getting? It's wrong when it's done by haters or when it's done by these numb nuts. I see nothing wrong with that tweet to make light of the haters. You need to always prepare yourself to have a little bit of thick skin when you're going online, or you won't make it. A good example being that older Yukaphile user, who seemed to have extreme thin skin. No offense to the user, just how I see it.

Turning death threats and online bullying into a joke... that's not antagonistic, and yeah, it sucks that trans people have such high suicide rates and depression, but that feels like everyone nowadays. At the same time, though, do we need to coddle them? Let them get thick skin, and if you're talking to the sort of people she was "antagonizing," maybe you shouldn't, I've seen some of the tweets, that you could no doubt pull out for Ms. Tran a few years ago, and yeah, that's equally wrong.

You know the sort. "I hope u die racist b****" being one of them. Making that into a joke is nothing wrong at all. Who cares about the online trolls.

Then why engage with them at all? You're just going to set them off. If you don't engage, they'll get tired move on to something else.

The big mistake is these giant companies getting so razor-focused on what's trending on social media. Twitter doesn't represent real people, and it's just poor business.

And honestly, you want something that's actually antagonistic, watch Ryan Kinel - RK Outpost's videos from way back then. Ranting and raving, cussing every other word, etc... that's what it is. I will admit Ms. Carano pushed too far, IMO, by making a bad-taste comparison and a flawed allegory, and this would ensure no nuance could be had in the conversation, as anytime the Holocaust is brought up, you need to handle it with care as Mr. Pascal found out back in November, when his boss had him remove his "LOSERS 1865, LOSERS 1945, LOSERS 2020" tweet, which was a smart move, that's good business.

Take myself. I try to avoid misgendering someone because I know people can be touchy about that and I don't actually want a s***storm, yet I wouldn't mind if someone misgendered me, or if someone felt that I was stupid for doing that. We all have our own opinions.
