I've read enough "both sides" arguments from Crimson to not take him seriously.

Another thing to note, is that Ms. Carano was let go by her talent agency. People want to treat her as the devil for working with Mr. Shapiro, and yet please note that while LF or Disney had every right to dismiss her, I think nothing she'd done was worthy of being blackballed, and that a conservative Jew is working with her should be testament to that. If anyone was going to be slighted by her, it should be a Jew, yet he can act like a mature grown-up at least on this one issue. We can never have a more tolerant society with it. Because if they were trying to keep her from ever working again, then what other option is left if you actually wanna keep going into the lion's den that Hollywood is? I hold no will toward Ms. Carano for that.
That said, I am curious to see what the final numbers are for TM. I had never maintained any pretense that they were doomed, because they aren't, and yet I have to wonder how many left, how many say they're going to leave, but don't really, or come back in a short time. These big businesses can always keep coasting off that.

First off, I have to say that appropriating what she's done by her association with a Jewish person isn't a valid means of assessment. That undermines any principle of the issue as it has more to do with personal relationship than it does public representation.Captain Crimson wrote: ↑Fri Feb 26, 2021 12:59 am Another thing to note, is that Ms. Carano was let go by her talent agency. Also, you have to pick one: they're allowed to fire her or she shouldn't be blackballed. Being blackballed is just a matter of people deciding to not work with someone, so what's your point? Her agency just fired her after she was let go from LF, it had nothing to do with going on Shapiro.

Legitimate argument, though she hasn't really "done" anything except perhaps stick her foot in her mouth. And yet as a society we fall too hard into habits of treating people and races and large groups as monolithic.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Fri Feb 26, 2021 1:28 am First off, I have to say that appropriating what she's done by her association with a Jewish person isn't a valid means of assessment. Would anyone rehire her after being dropped by her talent agency? Like, seriously. They should hire people based on their qualifications, not these blue checkmarks.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Fri Feb 26, 2021 1:28 am Also, you have to pick one: they're allowed to fire her or she shouldn't be blackballed. Look, you're making a big deal out of this more than anyone on the internet. She hasn't "done" anything and nothing has "happened" to her, just the same. She got fired+dropped over the same incident and now she's blowing the whistle on the libs. It's not a very exciting development.Captain Crimson wrote: ↑Fri Feb 26, 2021 4:06 amLegitimate argument, though she hasn't really "done" anything except perhaps stick her foot in her mouth. Nobody on this forum is very upset with her, but this is something more akin to littering on the highway. The fine is excessive, we all get it, but these rules were established plainly.
That leaves her hostile work environment. I don't disbelieve her on that, but that's very not exciting still.

Re: Gina Carano fired
As far as her career, I really can't say. She was in Fast and Furious 6 I think and that's all I'm really aware of. I didn't know she was much of an actor between these points.
So this was a great part for her, I'm sure anybody would agree. All that's left now is her seemingly not caring about ICE detention camps but instead general conservatives on the street that are being not chased and brutally beat down by Nazis. My sympathy is still a bit out for them considering the LITERAL police brutality that the left is concerned about.

Not causing a controversy is a qualification for a job that requires you to be the public face of something. Disney judged what was happening now and before and decided that the risk of dropping Carano now would probably be better than the odds some future event that could cause real controversy happening.Captain Crimson wrote: ↑Fri Feb 26, 2021 4:06 am Would anyone rehire her after being dropped by her talent agency?
