Okay, let's talk about this article. Forget Ms. Carano. She's gone. She's not coming back to DSW no matter what some FM stans think.
This is potentially very worrisome to me. As Ms. Dawson herself noted, that case was dropped. She herself said it's false, and now that Ms. Carano is gone, there's going to be ramped-up pressure to "prove" she's not a transphobe and supports the LGBT. And this isn't even the LGBT, it's a small minority of keyboard warriors are are just looking to make life unpleasant for a lot of people. There should be no question about this. "Innocent till proven guilty." If the court case was thrown out and she says it, what more is needed? Why are people still trying to call Ms. Dawson transphobic even now?
This is why I've brought up Ms. Dawson, because the Twitter nuts are coming for her next. Nothing is gonna be enough. The only difference is that since Ms. Dawson aligns with Ms. Kennedy and Disney politically and isn't likely to make flawed Nazi comparisons, she's going to keep her job no matter how bad the hate trending on social media gets from this fringe minority. Except that perhaps LF will spin to blame fans yet again.

Re: Gina Carano fired
Because whether somebody is offended by Ms. Carano's Holocaust comparison, I could understand that, TBH.
But labeling her or Ms. Dawson as transphobic based on LF or Disney's desire to cater to the online Twitter crowd who get something trending purely for agenda purposes is irksome. Ms. Carano is not transphobic nor is Ms. Dawson.
That being said, I'll drop the subject. Give people time to breathe.

Re: Gina Carano fired
Dawson needs to not make the same mistake as Carano and not engage. Despite what the knuckle-draggers at Clownfish and Midnight's Edge are trying to get you to believe, Carano was not fired for being transphoic or conservative. She was fired for being a bad employee who continued bad behavior that reflected badly on the company.
And if we shunned everyone who had done something bad, no one would be left. As they say, you need to break out the scales and weigh their bad with their good. If the latter outweighs the former, than it might be best to forgive the transgressions and move on. Of course, how these things are weighed are going to vary from person to person.
And the fact is we don't know what happened. Was it a full on transphobic attack? Was it a personal dispute where something transphobic was inadvertently exchanged? We don't know, some people are not going to accept an acquittal in a court of law.
I think Dawson is safe if she doesn't draw negative attention to herself as Carano did.

Agree, because this isn't because of Carano beliefs despite what Captain Crimson says, she was fire for giving Disney a black eye and hurting their purses.

Re: Gina Carano fired
None of y'all leftists have ANY moral high ground here starting this point out on Disney's bungling of Ms. Carano's termination. Former senator Heitkamp has called Ms. Carano a Nazi, finally came out and said it, then backpedaled to say she hangs out with white supremacists. An allegation with zero substantiated evidence. As Mr. Maher himself noted on the show, the goalposts there are just shifting, less from an actual movement based on the abhorrent ideology about how every other race is inferior and must be purged or made to serve from a high school dropout and shell-shocked WWI vet, and now merely to any white person who doesn't march in line to the corporate agenda... I guess.
It made me think of an earlier tweet Ms. Carano had posted, about this one man standing in the crowd of indoctrinated Germans, and how he had refused to raise his arm in salute to their Fuhrer out of deference to the woman he loves. I mean, whether you think she made a bad analogy or not, this is the problem with cancel culture and how it's so brazenly lies. Though I'm not shocked a former senator said this. In any case, try and wriggle your way out of this one, SJWs. You may think she was very racially insensitive, but that doesn't make an opponent a NAZI. If you do, then I don't know what to do with you, because you support slander, and you're exactly the reason this country is cleaved in two and heading to another civil war, because they hate you and wanna stop you, and you hate them and wanna stop them, and there's no nuance in either camp anymore. Logic, compassion, common sense is just sitting this out.

Re: Gina Carano fired
I loved Gina Carano but I am just so fucking SICK of the double standard.
I have heard for YEARS and YEARS that people should have the freedom to run their businesses how they want. I even used to believe it back in my fundamentalist days. To be able to hire or fire people or serve them not. This was the Right's mantra. That it was your business and you had the right to run it the way YOU wanted to.
Now we have this BULLSHIT that a private company with a history of mild gay activism (which the Southern Baptists boycotted them over) can't terminate a contract with an actress who won't shut the fuck up about something on social media. Note: Disney has morals contracts for this exact sort of thing so its not like she wasn't warned. It's not even a decision you have to make on ideology, it's the idea that it hurts the brand of their fucking kid's franchise.
And you know what? It's because the Right is scared of the numbers there because it means that Disney crunched them and found, "Go bigot, go bankrupt" is a bigger deal than "go woke, go broke."
It gets worse because Gina threw away the biggest acting job of her career with 7 figures at least and her own Star Wars show because she couldn't stay off social media. Which even if she was a RAGING BIGOT OR SAINT was something that any marketing manager should have warned her about.
