What is going on, my boarders, well, yeah, figured I'd post a pretty hefty news update. Mr. Cuomo has now been accused by four women, count 'em, four women of inappropriate touching, and this has me shaking my head, considering what did the DNC do last year? Swept the allegations under the rug and refused to investigate Mr. Biden. "We have to unite! Blue no matter who! #Biden2024!" I'd predicted it then, they wouldn't let it go despite being totally discredited. Ah, but they had bigger fish to fry back then, now that Mr. Trump is gone and his 2024 chances are about as good as the average tabloids.
And who knows. These accusations could be legitimate, in all honesty. I do severely dislike that we live in a world where victims' voices are silenced out of pain, shame, and the jeering from others, and personally I've read more than a few allegations I do believe in and others I don't. I have that freedom since I'm not actually a juror. And I do sympathize to an emotional sentiment that this is an insidious, disgusting, and pervasive unseen menace lurking in the fringe underbelly of our society. I get that. I don't like living in a world like that either.
But I'm just not very confidence in the unreliable nature of "he said/she said" arguments, and frankly, I'm worn out at this point. Allegations like this are the ultimate "he said/she said" narrative, which is what fuels red pushback. I have no doubt now even something as simple such as the coming together against a gross injustice like this has been politicized by left and right, and it's becoming increasingly more difficult to tell who is right and who isn't. Especially since human nature doesn't conform to a nice chicken ball of uniform density. I've read wartime cases where women embraced their attackers and were then married to them merely for comfort and a better living standard. It's all effed up, but that is our world. Always has been.
I can't say whether Mr. Cuomo is guilty or not, but I hope the investigation goes well, and is as impartial as possible. I agree what he says, that merely stepping down on the basis of allegations is extremely anti-democratic, though I've often argued that the non-democratic process is a good thing in certain instances. Not going to get into that again. What I'm most curious about is whether the case against Mr. Biden is gonna be reopened. Probably not. This is just the elites using these allegations to remove whatever convenient targets they dislike, and elevate and protect those who have their favor, same as always. Makes me feel these women, even if they're telling the truth, are playing right into their hands, because now they can remove whoever they like, and keep their allies around. They don't care about us, they're just using us.
But I'm interested to know what you guys think? Undoubtedly a few are going to believe this without any evidence. Lord knows I'd love justice for women too, but there's also so much rampant injustice, it's hard to prioritize. How about the skeptics? What arguments would you make about this? Is the left too quick to believe? What would you do in their place? What alternatives would you suggest to simply ignoring this, which clearly isn't an option. Smash out a reply down below, and I'll talk to you later.

He said/she said/she agreed/she provided supporting testimony/she said some things that really line up with his "adjusting his shirt" lying down on a hotel bed...

If it's his choice, then yes. If not, then let it go to trial. Even on the basis of this being a far more common element to the fringe underbelly of America, I'm skeptical of some, not all, of these claims. In an era where everything is connected and everything is politicized, I wonder how many is factually true, which is sad because then SJWs will sneer us off for not believing women, when what we want is a stronger framework that leads to more arrests and convictions for such gross injustices.
It may be conspiratorial, I can't help but think this is an attempt by the DNC higher-ups to get him removed for "collaborating" with Mr. Trump. That, or it could just be a ploy from the GOP. That is how the game is played, after all. Past that, I'm not going to condemn this man or demand he resign without proof. It's not cruelty to these women, because it's tragic and awful when a victim isn't believed. Surely we should have a lot more support systems for them and greater avenues to pursue justice. But this isn't justice, this is just condemning someone without evidence.
Though I would hate to think I'm waving off a potential victim, the DNC has no high ground here. If they did, Mr. Biden would have resigned, or gone to trial, and he has not. You're never gonna make everyone happy or have perfect justice, which is as abstract an idea as rights. We have infinite and zero rights, all at the same time.

Yes, it is. Cuomo is a pretty shit Governor who got a lot of support and credit after 9/11 for basically being in charge of the state that got hit, and he's been riding that ever since to varying degrees of success. If you want to punish him or take him down, you really wouldn't need to fabricate a bunch of sexual assault charges, especially since, as our last president and many others have proved, sexual assault allegations don't really hurt your political career.Captain Crimson wrote: ↑Tue Mar 09, 2021 6:43 am It may be conspiratorial, I can't help but think this is an attempt by the DNC higher-ups to get him removed for "collaborating" with Mr. Trump.
