I'm not sure if Disney has ever been in the business of making parodies, but I'm sure they'd crush it easy.

Disney doesn't have an exclusive copyright to space rebels fighting a bad guy....now throw in light sabers, mitochlorians, triangle-shaped bad guy ships and you got a lawsuit.
IMO, any form of comedy series in the Star Wars universe is dumb (unless you're Mel Brooks or it's in the Old Republic days)----cuz the whole premise/drama of Star Wars is that a small band of hopeless are fighting evil Space Nazis in a PG universe. Having a comedy undermines the tone of the franchise.
what was SFdebris' holocaust joke? 5-6-7-8 if I ______ _______.
Which is one of the reasons why "Last Jedi" sucked (in my opinion). "Can you hear me now" jokes in 2017? Ah yes, I remember those funny smart ass remarks from George C Scott in Patton
For a space comedy, bring back Galaxy Quest and Tim Allen. what are their characters doing 20 years on. Or reboot the movie (in a good way(

If Disney tried to shut down such a project, there's an easy rebuttal:
"We're not trying to rip-off Star Wars! We're trying to rip-off Dune and Flash Gordon, same as you are."
