Doesn't Doctor Who also mention JK Rowling by name? As well as Spock, Star Trek, Superman, and Star Wars?

Rowling famously was one of the top (if not the top) single donor against the Scottish independence movement. As John Oliver said, "Well that's obvious, she famously wrote a book where a redhead plays second fiddle to a magical Englishman."ProfessorDetective wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2019 7:26 pmThat... is flying right over my head. I mostly just like ribbing Rowling after her attempts to look "with it" blew up in her face.

Please, no, I don't want to see the Doctor tell oppressed black people to work with a smile and take it up the ass with a "thank you, ma'am" so that the middle class accepts them.
Rowling is incredibly classist and that fundamentally clashes with Dr. Who.

^ This. Her so-called "champions of the light" were always patronizing assholes who frankly were worse than the Death Eaters. At least they openly admitted they thought Muggles were inferior, and they would tell you it to your face. Those pretending to be on our side honestly treated us worse with their condescending attitudes. I always got the feeling... no, I knew the Muggles were never worthy of respect in any witch or wizard's eye that was worth their salt. It's insulting.

This is a great idea which naturally has huge appeal on a fandom crossover level. Not at all afraid to see what might result, even a total flop from JK would probably be fun in an offbeat way or another.
But then, of course headline naturally buries the lead: this is idle talk from Chibnall at NYCC, and this all references an earlier bit of scuttlebutt that's probably overstating how far they got in the past. Certainly if JK hasn't been in touch with BBC lately this is all just wanton speculation.
If it does, though, go for it all the way! Bet a two-parter or the holiday special on it.

Re: JK Rowling to write a Doctor Who episode?
Others said it best. JK Rowling is incredibly classist. I'd call her elitist and snobbish. I've read all the Harry Potter books, and let me tell you, they don't hold up to scrutiny very long. There's a kind of twisted, perverted, depraved humor to them, and more than that, lots of logical gaps, things that don't make sense, horrendously atrocious double standards (refer to Marrieta and the Weasley twins smuggling in date-rape potions to get a clear idea on that), and everyone is an asshole in some way or another. Even the "heroes of the light" treat Muggles pretty shabbily. Imagine her writing for Doctor Who and having some of the non-humans treat humans the way wizards and witches like Mr. Weasley treat Muggles? It insults me. It's offensive and actively prejudiced. And arguably promotes segregation. Rowling shouldn't be allowed near Who with a ten-foot pole, because I've been greatly impressed with the show's "growing of the beard" so far into the Second Doctor's run. It doesn't need her baggage to mess it up.
