I really hate it when people use the word ''iconic'' to describe something that clearly isn't.Winter wrote: ↑Sat Oct 30, 2021 5:10 am Okay, yeah, I know that sounds silly but this has happened enough times that I felt the need to point it out. Scorponok in Beast Wars, Tyrian Callows from RWBY and Scorpia from She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. All Scorpion people ALL loyal to their leaders.
It's honestly rather weird because one of the most iconic short stories of all time, The Scorpion and the Frog, is about showing that Scorpions are (by nature) treacherous who will turn on those they are loyal to at the first opportunity. And yet we have 3 Scorpion people who are as loyal as you can get and the only one to turn on their own did so for valid reasons and was still loyal to Catra as she didn't want her to be hurt.
So, are these the exceptions to the norm or are there more Scorpion Characters who are loyal people?

What word do you think fits better? That really is the first thing I associate with scorpions in stories.
When tyranny becomes law, rebellion becomes duty.
